I'd ask but he blocked me !

Tbh Hodgson is probably the right man for the national side at the moment, what's the point in having any one half decent in charge the outcome will be the same.

no decent manager would take the england managers job until there was a major rebuild at the fa. its such an old boys network, all wiping each others arse, a ****ing embarassment. its like a mini uefa/fifa.
woy is the ideal man to be in charge of this turd and sail it around the u bend and out to sea. it will take a major **** up for this regime to be overhauled, and they have picked the man that will be the cause of their downfall.
      good widdance.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

It won't though. England are better than this. Say Rodgers was in charge, I'd say we would see a definite improvement in under a year.
        Are we winning?

Look at past performances for the previous 20 odd years - 2nd round maybe the quarter finals but that's as good as it gets.

We need wholesale changes within the FA from the top down but I can't see it happening

I mean, that's as good as it gets (quarter final stage) but you aren't gonna get that with Bodgson. Unless they end up in a very weak group, they aren't gonna go past the group stage.

Agree about wholesale changes at the FA. They're a bunch of utter conservative ****s at the helm, with no forward thinking whatsoever.

Being unseeded makes the chances of a weak group remote at best.

Can't see us getting out the group. The top seeds will school us and the rest are on a par or better.

Factor in the weather (humidity etc), which isn't gonna favour them at all - and you can bet Bodgson will be fully prepared for that.

" England do have a history, however, of struggling to get out of easy groups and thriving in what appear slightly tougher ones.

At last year’s European Championship, they topped a group containing France, Sweden and Ukraine, while the 2010 World Cup saw them finish second in a group containing United States, Slovenia and Algeria."

Top, top thriving from England finishing second to Slovenia, Algeria, and a nation that still thinks soccer is such a sissy's sport that even girls get mocked for playing it.

Isn't what they're saying that England topped a difficult group, but came second in a easy one?

Nope... Obviously any group containing Slovenia is the toughest possible ; )
