To be honest I think he has been a decent England manager at a time when most of our top players have been aging or injury prone. However, I don't understand the easy ride he has had compared to his predecessors many of whom have done better than he has."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

We were only clearly better than one of the squads in our WC group and England teams seem to underperform at big tournaments and usually European teams struggle in South America. Personally, I would still have sacked him after the tournament but I can see the counter argument.Originally posted by Alex View PostI think he has done ok. But not when its counted. The World Cup being the prime example. We had the talent and should have gotten out of that group. But in the end we only got a point. Just not good enough really.
For me Hodgson is a strange choice for a coach who has clearly been given a mandate to fail short term on the understanding of building a squad for the future. He has done well in qualifying whilst doing much better than I though he would at bringing in young players. They don't seem to have really developed though either as individuals or components of a team."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."
