KEITH ANDREWS could still have a future at West Brom despite his appearance on a Premier League list of released players yesterday.Originally posted by baitman View PostWest Brom: Andrews, Downing, Edge, Elford-Alliyu, Fulop, Mattock, Scharner, Shorey, Tchoyi
is this paul scharner. is he carrying an injury or sumfin, cos he has been a classy, powerful player for them. is he worthy?
The circular from the top-flight authorities caused some confusion, as the small print revealed that it related to players who were out of contract at the end of the season -- and hadn't agreed a new deal by the third Saturday of May.
Paul Scholes was listed, even though he has subsequently agreed an extension to his Manchester United career. A lengthy list from West Brom is down to the fact that the departure of Roy Hodgson has left a number of players in limbo, including Andrews.
But West Brom have indicated they might be willing to retain Andrews and Paul Scharner, provided that meets with the approval of the new boss.
With the Dubliner in Euro 2012 mode, it's entirely possible that his fate won't be decided until after the finals, with Celtic also interested in his services. That rug really tied the room together.

If any of this is true they really are going all out this Summer, how on earth they're going to comply with the FFP rules I have no idea although you feel they really don't give a **** about complying with them!
European champions Chelsea are set to revamp their forward line in the summer and have reportedly already agreed terms with Porto's Hulk.
The Times says that the Brazilian star will earn £7 million a year at Stamford Bridge over four seasons and is willing to put in a transfer request to push through the move that works out at a cool £135,000-a-week.
The paper says: "Chelsea are yet to agree a fee with Porto and are thought to have set a ceiling of about £30 million for the transfer - taking the total cost of the deal to £58 million, as well as a lucrative bonus scheme - although Porto remain adamant that they will not countenance his departure for less than £38 million."
Hulk has also cast doubt over his future at Porto, telling Lancenet: "I will always continue to work hard and keep my feet on the ground, regardless of whether I stay at Porto. I have won many titles in the past four years at Porto, and I think that I have a great relationship with everyone. If the time has come to move on, I'll do so with a good feeling. I have enjoyed a great time here. I'm sure that they will understand the motives behind my decision if I leave."
Chelsea plan to play Hulk and Belgian star Eden Hazard either side of Fernando Torres in a 4-2-3-1 formation that would also incorporate Juan Mata.
Hazard has already said he will sign for the club in the summer and the Times said that a fee of £32.3m has been agreed with his current club Lille and that the playmaker is ready to pen a five-year contact worth about £100,000-a-week after tax.
While Torres looks like he is going to be backed with these new creative signings the Times does also note that the Blues: "are also contemplating moves for Radamel Falcao, the prolific Atletico Madrid and Colombia forward and a former team-mate of Hulk in Portugal, and Edinson Cavani, the Napoli and Uruguay striker, who is valued at about £40 million."
If either player is signed then that would put Torres' future back in doubt.

Chelsea have reached an agreement with Lille for the transfer of Eden Hazard, with the Belgium international having passed a medical and accepted personal terms at Stamford Bridge.
Hazard's switch to the UEFA Champions League holders was revealed by the player via his Twitter account last Monday after a number of days of hinting over his next destination on the social networking site.
It has taken the West London side a further week to officially rubber-stamp the move for the highly-regarded 21-year-old, who can feature in a number of attacking roles.
Hazard was targeted by several of Europe's leading sides after his displays for Ligue 1 outfit Lille last season, where he scored 21 goals and provided 18 assists in 48 games.
"I'm delighted to finally arrive here, it's a wonderful club and I can't wait to get started."
The Blues reportedly won a bidding war for his services with the fee reported to be £32million and are said to be paying him around £170,000 a week over a five-year contract.
The former Tubize player, who made his debut for Belgium at the tender age of 17, will join up with his new team-mates in July when they return for pre-season training.
Hazard told the club's official website: "I'm delighted to finally arrive here, it's a wonderful club and I can't wait to get started."

Hulk won't really play as a striker, he'll take up the wide right role that they use. They'll be very flexible and full of creativity that's for sure. I'm just hoping they don't go back in for Modric.Originally posted by rcasemore View PostIf they're going to go out and spend big I'd rather it was on him than Cavani or Falcao who are far superior IMO as strikersVive la France
