Aurelio De Laurentiis, president of the Naples-based club has confirmed that his club has reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain over the sale of Argentine international Ezequiel Lavezzi
For the first time in many weeks, there is no doubt. Argentine international, Ezequiel Lavezzi is set to engage with Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain this season. Though nothing has been made official yet, the statement of Napoli president Aurelio Di Laurentiis is as clear as spring water.
“We talk of a sum of thirty one million euros in the press but the agreement remains confidential and I will not reveal official figures. All I can say is that the Lavezzi case will be concluded next week,” dropped the outspoken president while talking to Radio Marte.
It seems that PSG have finally managed to beat Inter Milan to the race for the playmaker's signature.
This is an important confirmation as the player has been under the spotlight for quite some time. Following clues by Javier Pastore and Roberto Sosa, the president’s statements mean that El Pocho’s next destination is no more a mystery.
Managing to get hold of Lavezzi is a major coup for PSG who have so far struggled to sign proven players. The arrival of Lavezzi however, does not mean that Carlo Ancelotti and Leonardo will stop.
Kaka and Higuain are still very much under the Ile club’s radar. Nasser Al-Khelaifi is no longer hiding his desire to sign players from Real Madrid.
Though the European championships have taken some sting out of the transfer market, one can expect PSG to work quietly behind closed doors and finalise deals for long-term targets.
Though Kaka has many a times indicated his desire to stay with Madrid, it is clear that Jose Mourinho will not be looking to keep the Brazilian at the club for a long time. The former AC Milan man has seen a torrid time since making the switch from the Italian giants.
On other hand, Les Parisiens are also keen on signing Alexandre Pato from Kaka’s former club. The Brazilian striker has declared his desire to play for the cash-laden club and Ancelotti would be keen to bring him to the Parc des Princes which could spell curtains to Kevin Gameiro’s short career at the club.
The days where we were realistically linked to top foreign talent are long gone.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
Good news hopefully regarding Lewandowski. Basically both Borussia`s president and managing director Zorc telling Smuda to shut up and focus on his job. Apparently both Piszczek and Lewandowski are not for sale.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed that the club have agreed terms with Paris Saint German over Ezequiel Lavezzi.
Big spending PSG look set to spend in excess of €30million (£25million) on the Argentine international.
The 27-year-old has been linked with a host of clubs, but PSG look to have sealed a deal for the highly-rated forward who has been with Napoli since 2007.
De Laurentiis told Naples radio station Radio Marte: "There is talk of a 31 million euro price in the press, but this agreement is confidential.
"I can not reveal the true figures. All I can say is that the case will be concluded next week. SKY
Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood admits that Robin van Persie will quit the club if he wants big money.
The Gunners captain and talisman has just a year left on his current deal and he is in talks about an extension.
But a host of clubs from across the continent are showing an interest with the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United strongly linked in England.
And Hill-Wood admits that if money is the deciding factor then their captain will most likely leave.
"He is vital to us and has been an extremely good captain," said Hill-Wood in the Sunday Mirror.
"But if somebody comes along and offers Robin £250,000 a week then I am afraid we cannot compete with that.
"With players, you never know what they are going to do. SKY
