Argentinean international Ezequiel Lavezzi is set to snub interest from Manchester City and move to minted French side Paris St Germain in a deal worth £21m.

Reports in Italy claim PSG have offered the Napoli hitman a five-year contract and a salary of €5m per season.

Lavezzi has been strongly linked with a move away from Naples for some time, with Manchester City and Inter Milan also among the clubs reportedly chasing the 27-year-old striker.

"We hope that the contract will be signed on Monday," Lavezzi's agent Alejandro Mazzoni told Sky Italia.

"There are still a few minor details to be discussed by both clubs. Everything should be ready by Monday or Tuesday.

"It's difficult for Lavezzi to say goodbye to Napoli and once the deal will be completed, he will explain his decision to leave."

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has revealed goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will be allowed to leave the club for the right price.

French international Lloris has been strongly linked with a move away from Stade Gerland this summer with reports in France claiming Arsenal are leading the chase for the keeper.

Liverpool and Tottenham have also been credited with an interest in Lloris, but Aulas insists it will have to be a big offer to persuade Lyon to sell the custodian.

"Lloris can go, but only for a decent price in relation to the market," Aulas told TF1.

The news is sure to fuel speculation that Lloris could be on his way to the Premier League this summer.

Newcastle have lost target Luuk de Jong to Borussia Monchengladbach according to reports in the German media.

The 21-year-old FC Twente striker established himself as one of the hottest properties in Holland's Eredivisie, banging in 32 goals for Steve McLaren’s side last season.

Newcastle had appeared strong contenders for the Netherlands international, with Toon officials in Holland last week to iron out a deal with the Netherlands international.

But reports claim Mönchengladbach have won the race for his signature and will conclude a £10million deal.

De Jong may well have been lured to the Bundesliga side with the promise of Champions League football next term, something boss Lucien Favre could offer following Monchengladbach’s fourth place finish last term.
