....reckon the fee is so low just so city can get him of their books and allow spurs to pay him silly amounts

Didier Drogba insists it is not money but the big challenge in an unfamiliar land that lured him to China.
More than 300 fans gathered to welcome the former Chelsea man on his much-anticipated arrival to join Chinese Super League strugglers Shanghai Shenhua.
Drogba has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the big-spending club for a reported salary of £270,000.

He said: 'I decided to come here because when the club and the president approached me, I looked at the project and it came with ambitious ideas. He wants to help football develop in China.
'I know China is a great sports country so for me it was also a big challenge because it could have been easy for me to stay in Europe and go to another team, another big team.
'Really, I didn't come here with the idea of making a lot of money. I come here because it is a completely different challenge from what I have seen in Europe before.
'And that's the idea, there are many challenges but this one is a big one.'

I was reading a little about it earlier, I thought it was a joint deal but the Ibra transfer is now in doubt. Didn't Milan reject £35m for Silva not long ago?

He must be holding out for more money.. By double transfer I meant one deal relying on the other, I know that sounds a bit footballmanagerish but if it was Ibra first and Silva was delaying, the deal looks poor for Milan.

Yes but it pays to cosy upto these super rich clubs. They will have plenty of players in the future to have on loan.

Or they just ask us to loan them players year after year

Is there a plan to charge the rich in France upto 75%? A mate was just mentioning it then, seems to be a rumour Ibra want to make sure he's protected and PSG pay it if he goes and it comes into play.

@SkySports: Brazilian club Santos say they have been offered Florent Malouda but are 'scared' of his wage demands. http://t.co/QSHvD3qv
Interesting one that, surely they aren't after Neymar/Ganso and are trying to sweeten the deal.
