Awesome goal, he can go back to being Van Persie now!

      2-1
      van Persie
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

They build the best cars in the world. They create technology of the 22nd century. It's ingrained in the culture. When you get a get a train and it's 5 minutes late, you complain to whomever gives a ****. The Germans are such professionals, such perfectionists, losing is not an option.

On top of that, there's none of the whole celebrity ****. No one knows where the players live, they don't go around doing celebrity 'come into my house and watch the millions', but it's not just them, it's everyone. There's a baker in our village, he's a multimillionaire, he's got 20-30 bakeries in the region, he's ****ing loaded. He lives a couple of hundred yards away in a relatively normal house, you never see him going around waving his money. No one goes around waving money, it's all about merit. And when you've worked hard as **** and you've 'made it', you work even harder. It's a brilliant way of life and I've really missed it. They're modest and they have humility. It's kind of the whole Rafa way of management, there's always room for improvement. I love that, they never rest on their laurels. Wait for the 2nd half, they'll really come out guns blazing, they won't sit back, they'll go for goals 3 and 4. They fear no one.
I worked for a German manufacturer for 4-5 years and went over a fair few times and had good working relationships with a good number of Germans...I can only echo this...was blown away with the German way of life

The way he hit that reminded me of Fowler's goal in the UEFA cup final

              @ Kenneth:

No it's not. That's the *WHOLE* point I've been trying to make. The Germans might have asked the question, but they awaited and accepted the response by Bierhoff, instead of coming to their own conclusions.

The media in England are as ****ing bad as the players, they're a perfect fit for each other. It's just the whole mentality thing I've been going on about.

I've seen so many defending England's absolute SHAMBLES of a match, even yourself (this is no offence, this is just a simple observation). People saying 'Yea, first match, high heat, good draw', load of ****ing bollocks, sorry, but it is. That type of mentality doesn't get you anywhere. England and Germany are galaxies apart, from the managers, from the press, from the players, from the training, from the dedication, the professionalism, the discipline.

I used to hate the Germans. I hated everything about them. I lived here til I was 21 (had a short period in England from 5-7 years of age). Only when I moved to England from 21-27 years of age could I actually appreciate the German football, could I watch it from a distance. And in that time I more and more distanced myself from England, because the Germans were everything I wanted England to be, throughout my youth, my teens. England are abysmal and in '96, I cried tears, I was so ****ing upset. Then I watch the Germans and they're just on a different planet, which WC 2002, Euro 04, WC 2006, Euro 08, WC 2010, Euro 2012 (by the looks of things) can attest to.

Anyways, whatever, I love both teams, but I'm realistic and I know that England won't ever win anything, they just don't have it. I can't see it. Sorry. After the shower of ****e we saw in the first game, I just cannot see them going on and winning it. If you have that type of mentality in the opening game, from manager to players, then you're going ****ing nowhere. It's just not good enough. I'd love to see England win something, it'd make all my childhood dreams come true, but it just won't happen.

Ok, but I have no idea why you are telling me all of this tbh.
