What hardware is needed to get BT and ditch Sky? I've got BT broadband - which annoyingly is not working properly today for the first time in months
- and I can get the main sports channel I want on my lapdog so Sky seems unnecessary.
But when they tried to flog me BT Vision three years ago I told them I hadn't got an aerial and that was that..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

When you say you can get the 'main sports channel', are you saying you're streaming games on your lapdog? Or are you saying that you've got BT broadband, therefore you've got BT Sport which you can also get on your lapdog?Originally posted by Neil Young View PostWhat hardware is needed to get BT and ditch Sky? Indeed, it's £159 just to watch BT Sport through Sky for 12 months.Originally posted by Alex View Post£15 activation fee? Hardly makes the free HD worth it then.
I am tempted, but I think ill reserve judgement until the last possible moment before Aug 1st.
I guess it depends on who provides your current phone and or broadband.

I didn't know that about BT Sport but of course it's obvious now you say it.
So, since I did nothing about the integrated media thingy Frenchie was persuading me to set up, I assume I could just use the laptop for watching tele and put it through my TV somehow and save myself £44 a month on Sky Sports and the whole Sky subscription on hardware and mainstream channels.
Yes?.

Depends if you want Sky Sports? You can sign up for BT Sport 1 & 2 free of charge because you have BT Broadband - that's a given.
If you want Sky Sports, keep paying £44 a month and you'll have the hardware to watch all the sport your heart desires.
If you don't want Sky Sports, cancel it and plug your lapdog into the TV to watch Eurosport and BT Sport with nothing else required.

But what I mean is, I would just phone them myself, say you have seen about getting free BT Sport and see what they say. Might get some sort of BT Vision box given to you. Because ultimately I think they are using this as a ploy to get the Vision service into more houses.*Except Michael, who died.
