Be bad news for United and City if they ditch Di Matteo soon.

A decent manager could get them challenging.

Big time, longer he's there the better IMO.

Thing is, I think Di Matteo is a good manager. It's probably his first rough patch at Chelsea. Don't think they're as good as some people make it out.
          Are we winning?

If they sign Falcao and replace Cole well they will have a squad on par with Citys imo.

The 3 behind Torres are magic.

I think it is fairer to say that they are adapting to a very new style with a lot of young players. In some ways they are as much in transition as we are. The fact that he's done well at the start of the season seems to have convinced people he had an easy task, which I don't think is fair.

He's a young manager and I think it is hard to tell how good he is but I think it is far from clear that many other people would be doing a better job than him ATM.

Iv got to disagree im afraid. Fair enough they won the CL last season but the league form was dire, they finished 6th.

Given the players at his disposal, he should be having them challenging the manchester clubs. Probably the worst manager of the top 7 teams. I honestly cant see him lasting beyond this season.

Without wanting to turn this into a Rafa discussion, but change 6th to 5th and you have Rafas first season with us.

Also, I'm pretty sure they would have finished 5th if they hadn't focused everything on the CL games. Especially the Semis.

I do think Di Matteo is a bad manager though.

Not just the CL but also the FA Cup final. I said to my Chelski mate RDM was a tool who effectively threw away 4th spot just to win an FA tinpot (as Abramovich would call it). Had he rested his key players for the league match against us a few days later they would have beaten us. As it happens, and as I predicted, we thrashed them in the revenge match.

To compare Rafa's fantastic, albeit a bit lucky, CL win to RDM's pathetically boring and completey fluked one is a slap for Rafa.
                          One tit for another.

But the two squads are in no way comparable, Chelsea's being possibly the most expensive ever assembled, ours included Traore, Biscan, Le Tallec, Pongolle, Nunez, Diao, Mellor etc.

Shameless self-quote As I started this thread saying...

Although now it's really bad news, Chelsea might get a manager that can get the squad working.
