I had a chat with a good mate today who was with BR at the weekend at a family gathering in NI. BR said it had gone quiet with Gylfi and he wasn't hopeful. BR spoke more about Borini. He said he would love to pair him with Luis up front - he doesn't think Andy fits his system. He said they were in talks. Ayre rang 3 times during the course of the evening.

BTW, he is not a fan of our midfield - lots of runners but not enough ball players, but is a big fan of Agger.

I've read that a few times, but thats just clutching at straws surely? I can't imagine it being any different to signing player 'officially' until July 1st. Basically it doesn't make what difference the date is if the player is signing.
