Cheeky ****er says he chose Spurs over us because they're going places...

Well, cheeky or accurate? I guess he would've discussed ambitions with people at both clubs and would therefore have more of an idea than any of us so....

What does that tell us about us?

Spurs will be back where they belong soon enough and that is mid table. Harry had them punching above their weight. Form is temperary (Spurs), Class (LFC) is permanent.

It's not that radical an opinion, theyve finished above us 3 years in a row but like most footballers it's just meangingless crap to appease fans anyway. He took the most cash.

They were heading no-where when Redknapp took over, he got them playing to the strengths they had, I don't know if ABC or whatever he's called will adopt the same philosophy or try getting them playing his style which might or might not work
              RIP IRWT post/rant, best ever

It was about the money. And the training ground too, obviously.

It's a big fat snub no matter what way you look at it
Tom and George really did snap this club in two, will take years to repair the damage them *******s caused.

I think they are in a really difficult position

I think to attract better players they will have to overpay, but it looks like they are not willing to do that

I dont believe we are that attractive to people, we cant just trade on "being LFC" anymore

I didnt think we'd have to overpay for people like Gylfi, we have which is even more concerning if FSG are to stick with this financial policy

I dont envy the position they are in, they have certain beliefs and ideals on how to run their business but its going to be tough to achieve their goals without altering their stance

If they dont alter their stance it will be difficult to sign better players than Gylfi

                      Time will tell
To a point fair enough, it is certainly a much more competitive transfer market out there now, with the likes of Spurs, PSG, City joining the Top Club ranks. In terms of this lad, taking our LFC hats off for a moment ... he is joining a London Club, who has been playing a realy exciting brand of football, with arguably one of the strongest starting 11 in the LG who has just signed one the world top managers if you beleive the hype.

The fact he signed for them does not necessarily belittle us, he made a choice, it happens. He was a very good player at a decent price, but hey, he had half a season in a darling first season promotion team were teams were expected to batter week in and week out and obviously did not ... playing in a Spurs Side will be different.

Am I disappointed, sure I am, it looked like a tidy piece of business.
Is it the end of the world, no, there hundreds of players like this guy around Europe.

FSG have shown they are not afraid to invest in players ... the broke the English transfer record ffs ... I think in a way that was as much a PR stunt as it was an investment in the future value of Andy ... but they have the money ... how they use it is another matter ...

We have a project now ... We have a clear identity .... Our owners want us to be the best football team in the world .. and they are putting the pieces in place to get us there ... once fair play kicks in ... we will be in a extremely strong position ... LFC is one of the few Mega Clubs on the Planet ... I have lived in Asia for over 15 years .. trust me Liverpool is Huge and more than a 1/3 of the planet lives here .. not 40k a week at the home games ... thats were the real money is ... and we are set up nicely to take advantage of it ... so they wont be shy of spending a penny or two

New stadium on the cards, new training ground, new and young progressive, continental manager, challenging for Champions League places in the last 3 seasons.

                        Not surprised really.
