Dirk was horribly misused imo though. I am not sure that is a fair indicator.

That's true and why I always argue that the whole 'would he get in XXXX team' debate is pointless.

But it speaks volumes that one particular player was highly coveted throughout Europe when signed compared to another who seemingly doesn't interest a single other team.

I actually think Dirk looked like he had lost a bit of touch last season. From some comments he made I wonder if he was trying to hard to retain his fitness. Would also fit in with some of the talk of how the fitness regime was not ideally tailored to football.

I think Dirk was under valued and his passing has always been better than Dempsey's IMO. The latter possible has the edge on consistency of control. Overall Dirk was the better player now I suspect his edge is gone and Dempsey may be better.
