Agree with that, really don't think we'll hand over near 10mill for Dempsey, not unless we get a great price on a part ex with one of our players going the other way.

If we don't learn the lesson the AC purchase taught us, then we're just plain stupid, so i think we'll be very tough when it comes to valuing players.

It's unfair to compare this to the Andy Carroll farce. It's one thing paying £2/3m over value, quite another to pay 5 times over the value of the player. Andy Carroll will never happen again.

It's unfair to compare this to the Andy Carroll farce. It's one thing paying £2/3m over value, quite another to pay 5 times over the value of the player. Andy Carroll will never happen again.

If the value of the player is small in comparison to the AC deal, then 3mill is a lot to pay on top of what the player is actually worth, and adds up every time we do it.

It's besides the point, why would we accept paying 3mill over the market value of a 7-10mill player, makes no sense and adds up every time we do, so i for one hope we are hard negotiators.

I wouldn't, Dempsey is a squad player at best. The kind of unimaginative overpriced mediocre turd I would have expected to join last summer with the other atrocities.

I don't know about you all but I am completely uninspired about our team this pre season. We're being linked with more ****e once again, seems like a trend with the current owners. I can't see us finishing above 8th this season, unless Rodgers pulls off a miracle. We're going to lose our best players in the next 2 years (a process which started 3 years ago anyway).

The likes of Dempsey are simply not good enough. This kind of signing is symptomatic of a mid table team affliction.
