He is decent player BUT he has major flaws.

- He constantly fouls, stupidly. This was evident even in the friendly on saturday

- His fitness is shocking. After 50 mins,he seemed ****ed and was subsituted in a lot of games at the 60 min mark

- He overdoes set pieces. He tries to be too smart on free kicks and corners rather than keep it simple. This was again evident in the friendly.

All of the above are incredibly frustrating. Having said all that, he was one of our most productive players but I can't see him getting many games.

The less studious manager would probably take a punt on him for at least 7-8m. Anybody who scouts him over the course of 5 games or so would probably steer well clear.

I doubt Villa have that mount of money. In any case this is what would happen:

"I hear Charlie Adam is available. He's worth £10m. Who does he play for? Liverpool. OK, lets offer £2.5m. Actually **** it, lets take him on loan for free and get them to pay 97% of his wages"

Charlie Adam shouldn't be anywhere near the starting berths for central midfield for Liverpool, plain and simple. He wouldnt have even been considered for any of the squads over the last twenty years at keast.

That sort just emphasises how **** we were last season... Chad got 2 goals and 11 assists. But just goal & assist stats don't tell the whole picture. He probably gave the ball away more than most and fouled a hell of a lot more than most... often leading to us conceding a goal. He is a championship player.
