Maybe he should befriend Torres if he does that.

He can tell him all about how to properly warm the bench.

Would be a shame if Arsenal got Sahin and Dempsey and we got zilch.

Sahin would be an unfortunate blow but Dempsey not for me.

Good, glad he has gone on strike. We got stitched up with that with the Mascherano transfer. It happens. None of us are in a position to judge him. I'd do the same to force a move to a bigger club.

I am also aware it's incredibly Unprofessional. But he had no clue when he signed that contract that he would be on the verge of moving to a club like us or Arsenal. You have to give the bloke some slack for wanting it.

Going on strike now?!? This Dempsey is a horrible prick of a man. Mash did it to us and I wanted to have a go at him. You get paid by ur club, you signed a deal to play for your club, do the decent thing and don't throw your toys out the pram! Don't want anyone like that near my club.

If a player doesn't want to be there, then they should be able to leave. Not forced to go on strike. How would anyone here like to be told they must remain in a job if they dont want too.

you cant rationalise dempseys behaviour with that argument. fulham bought him, spent money developing him as a player, paid him a vast amount of wages and in return they are well within their rights to have him sign a contract that they expect him to honour.

they are not stopping him from leaving either. they are willing to let him go if someone pays them what they believe is a fair return on their investment. there is no reason to go on strike in this siuation. it downright stinks of bad attitude.

99% of people on here will have jobs that they signed contracts to and i'll bet that nearly everyone will have to give fair notice of their wish to terminate their contract. obviously professional football contracts are more water tight than the average workers given the millions of pounds at stake should they simply wish to up sticks and leave.

You're talking like this has all happened today, and come totally out of the blue. How do you know he hasn't been asking for this move for 2 years now and has no option other than to strike.

Football players get paid a lot, but they are well within their rights to do as they see fit for themselves. Just as your or I are.

and how do you know this hasnt come out of the blue? all guesswork but my point remains, they sign up to a fix term contract having had money spent bringing to the club and even more money invested in improving them and they should honour it.

how would you feel if tomorrow suarez refused to play for us tomorrow? demanding a move to everton for example? would you feel that its still justified given that weve probably spent over £28 million on him with fees and wages etc...

That's fine, as long as we get good money. It's not like Dempsey is demanding to move to their biggest rivals.

If Suarez wanted to go to Barca or Real, then he can go quite frankly. I had enough of primadonna players after Torres. Sorry if I seem jaded.

About the same price of what we paid for Drowning and he refused to play for us all last season and I am still pretty pissed about that.

Its a wonderfully easy life being a pro footballer.

I wish I could choose which firm I want to work for, if I want to work or not and decide if I want to put in any effort or not.

If your biggest competitor came to you and offered you more money, what would you do? What connection other than a contract do you have with the company?
