Pirlo is technically superior. He sees the pass before he gets the ball and he is most of the time playing first time. He's exceptional when at his best. No one can touch him.
    Are we winning?

Pirlo is slightly more mobile than Alonso but I think Xabi does his defensive duties better. Alonso was ****ing fabulous yesterday, every pass he made reached his target, makes it look so so easy.

Imagine a midfield built on Pirlo an Alonso with Xavi and Iniesta in front, passes galore.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Pirlo was dead good again tonight. He's way better than I remember.

Yes, indeed. Marginally better than Shaggy Alonso, as we've heard.

I've been mightily impressed with Pirlo, during this tournament. I haven't seen his club form for a couple of years, so assumed he was living off reputation.

I always admire players who seem able to slow down time around them. Pirlo does this, not quite like Zidane did, but his vision is amazing. Even when closed down, last night, he kept the ball and wriggled free. He doesn't even have any pace, much like Zidane.

On current form, has to be Pirlo. He's untouchable when at his best. Players just can't get near him. Absolute class.

and some people were questioning why Juve would want Pirlo ahead of Aquilani...

Yeah very little in it IMO and as Gibbo says Xabi is much tougher/better defensively.

And don't forget he is too old and slow for the PL.
