Spain v France match thread

Interesting perspective. Do you think there are similarities with Spain of yore in terms of team cohesion then (a more exaggerated form, perhaps)? It seems more like a combination of the English in South Africa and Holland at 90% of all tournaments from the information in the media here.

I don't think there's much wrong in the team cohesion, it's more to do with the general malaise in the country and the football team is symbolic in that.

Journalists, the public, politicians, they're all sniping at them. I even overheard someone question the players' willingness to sing the national anthem. Do they all have to sing it to show they care?

I can't really make parralels to Spain of yersteryear.
