Two years is based on players hitting there peak at 26-29 years old. So yeah, I think it would be reasonable to expect a performance drop off in his 30's

Name me one player who is still in his peak past 31?
Pirlo,Scholes,Makele,Maldini & Drogba off the top of my head.

I don't think mancs will be concerned about the fee but moreso just getting a world class striker. I hope that it disrupts the whole system and that he has a mare... but Fergie is a wily oul *******... i think he's got a diamond signing

      And what about Gerrard?

Gerrard was past his peak a while ago. He hasn't been the same since 2008/9 really. Has he?
        *Except Michael, who died.

Rooney and RVP will both try and drop off to collect the ball, could work out but like you said no certainty it will.

Personally i think Rooney will be the one who drops off & RVP will play as the out an out striker. With United how attacking they are & the width they have RVP will get more service than he has throughout his whole career IMO.

Not how he usually plays though is what I am saying, they play very similar styles of football.

Be interesting to see how the Mancs fit him, Rooney and Kawaga into the side plus they've also got Wellbeck, Hernendez, MJ and Valencia

Can see MJ being sold before the end of the window.

Tis an interesting one alright, although i can only see it as a good complaint.

And i can see Mancs getting rid of Berbatov,Anderson,Macheda & maybe even Hernandez. There'll make there money back for them for the fee the forked out for RVP. Still shocked United haven't got a top class CM, wonder will that be next for them?

well you see this is where i think it depends on the Budget.....I amongst many liverpool fans would not be happy if we spunked most of our budget on RVP when we are so clearly lacking in other areas.

For instance I would take Allen and Borini over RVP becuase i think they will bring more to Liverpool over the years and also help 2 positions not one.

Great player yes, Solve there fullback and midfield issues? no

Most Manc fans I know are absolutely delighted about this.

Goal scorers haven't really been their problem though. As others have rightly pointed out, it's their lack of a midfield that's their main issue. I'd also say they need to look at their defence too.

Its not the same - Torres was a few years younger and had only just pledged his future to LFC prior to leaving.

Also, Torres was an LFC player so was very difficult to look at objectively.

Arsenal will come in for Carroll.

                          Or LLorente.

I think it's exactly the same personally.

Aye I agree with Pablo, only difference is that at least Van Persie had the decency to not wait until the last day of the transfer window.

Maybe we can expect a £35m offer for Carroll from the Gooners then.
                                3rd place. Worst champions ever.
