If there is any semblance of nuance to this story, then I expect the FA to completely miss it in their ham fisted efforts to ensure that the game of football is as inclusive to all as far as possible, without any sort of discrimination at any level whatsoever.

As we know, you only get charged by the FA if they are 100% certain that they are going to find you guilty, so it'll be interesting to see how this pans out.
    Oh I don't know.

I would argue that Sahko is not performing a "ground meat" Unless he has a massively dislocated shoulder
You can argue all you want, but the bloke he is standing with is the comedian who invented it

I can see that. I would rather see the totty misted out in the background

Point of note; I do not condone the conduct of any people making this gesture. However, I find it strange that this has all come about because of a "comedian"

Aye, its a tough one to judge. I dont really understand fully what it has come from. Only read that its an anti semitic gesture.

I dont really know anything about French politics, but I remember the far right (?) being much more prominent. Which might explain why something like this is more mainstream.

Apparently Sakho bumped into the comedian somewhere, he asked sakho to do the 'quenelle' and got the pic taken.....later when sakho found out the 'links' to the gesture he posted on twitter that he was sorry he didn't know what it was or something like that

Glad to see the FA are taking a bit more care with things like this now.

Just wish they didn't have a conviction rate of 99.9%

my - uneducated take on it all - is, that this comedian likes to be controversial, and created this gesture to get publicity and has used 'celebs' by getting them to do the sign when he see's them, to help him raise his profile.

So a bit like asking Noel Edmonds to warn about the dangers of Cake, but with a more sinister motive?

I have no clue on any of it either. But I still don't expect the FA to have any sort of grasp on it either.

'The fa took expert academic advice' ?

Do they ever tell us who they consult with on such issues, who are the people that advise them ?

Does it need to be a secret ?

Everton remove video from their website of Lukaku calling on FA not to ban Anelka & backing use of "quenelle" which is seen as antisemitic

Can someone explain to me why it's considered antisemitic?
The times they are a changin'.

Because the nazi salute would be too obvious.
                              Are we winning?

yeah - apparently the comedian has links to nazi parties or something and he created it to be discrete nazi salute that he could get away with in public.
