I haven't seen his Tweets, but the cynic in me thinks he's holding out for a move back to Italy and if that doesn’t materialise I can see him taking the Sunderland offer.Originally posted by Pablo1981 View PostFrom his tweets I think it's pretty clear he wants to stay and fight for his place. As Shaggy says there's lots to admire in that.
I do think though if Rodgers really does want him gone (I'm not 100% convinced he does) then he has to gently force him out of the door regardless. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

It's completely understandable though. Last season he played in a team that lost almost every week and had to battle relegation. He probably thinks with a bit of luck and hard work he can get a break here. With the prospect of CL and challenging for the league, you can fully understand why as a 23 year old he doesn't fancy being in a relegation dogfight again. It's unfortunate as we'll never get that kind of an offer for him again, but it'd be a serious lack of ambition on his part. Even if it doesn't work out for him here, he's definitely good enough for a top 6/7 kind of team who plays in the Europa League in a top 3 league.
It's a shame for us, but you can't blame him for wanting to make it at Liverpool against his odds. Rodgers has shown in the past he'll give players a chance for redemption even if he hasn't been interested in them previously. As shown in Enrique and Skrtel.
Oh well, if he stays he does give us some good workrate up top which is a bit different from the other strikers.

AgreedOriginally posted by Shaggy View PostAs annoying as it may be, if it's true he's decided to try and fight for his place it's got to be admired really. I know I wouldn't wanna leave. Fair play to him.
Ian Ayre must be freaking pissed though. First time he negotiates a deal where every LFC fan nods in approval and the player rejects the move.

Baros wasOriginally posted by RoboKop View PostThis is like when Lyon offered us £12m for Baros & he decided he didn't wanna go. Too good to be true.tentwo times the player Borini is though.
People laugh and joke about Ciise and Baros, but they at least provided some sort of threat through pace or dribbling, and could score goals, and were decent enough as backups (and far better than ****ing Heskey).
Borini on the other hand, apart from being decent at penalties, cant dribble, does not seem to have much pace, rarely gets in a position to shoot when he does he rarely scores, and does not seem to be able to cross or provide for other players. £14m, if that is correct, seems ridiculous to me for a player who is perhaps tidy and a hard worker.
I feel a hell of a lot better having Remy Loic, who does scores goals.
I am not sure where that would leave Borini, as he does not seem to have the tools to make it in any of the 3 attacking positions, and the competition for the wide roles is ridiculous, and as a striker, he is nowhere near the level of Remy or Sturridge, and I am still hopefull we are bringing in someone else to strike fear into the hearts of men in that position.Last edited by Charly; 22-07-14, 03:30 PM.In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

you can see the queue of fans waiting to post their dog **** through borini's door even now
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

Someone said before that he's keeping his options open to see if he gets an offer from Italy and if not then he'll go to Sunderland. I really can't see him being here at the end of the transfer window, there's no place for him. I couldn't see him getting a single game, we have youngsters coming through who are more likely to get a game than Borini. He needs to leave for his own sake and clearly Sunderland believe in him sufficiently to make a decent bid and he'd be daft not to grab the opportunity.

I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.
