Would you ever want him coming off the bench late in a game to try and chase a winner, maybe a CL game against a top club? If he stays with us it's only going to be about making up numbers.

Yes he's Italian, what's more clutch than that?Originally posted by Kenneth View PostWould you ever want him coming off the bench late in a game to try and chase a winner, maybe a CL game against a top club? If he stays with us it's only going to be about making up numbers.
Seriously, he certainly has improved at Sunderland since his time with us, so before I'd answer no to your question I'd like to see first what he can do here.

Not sure I understand that point. Baros was a European championship golden boot winner, both were much better than Borini for us and were players that could change a game (with dribbling and pace respectively).Originally posted by Reece View PostWe won the CL with Baros and Cisse, so I'm more than happy to have Borini as our third choice CL striker

Not saying Borini is better than either of them, but my point is that they were our first two choice strikers. Third choice would've been what - Mellor? I'm happy having someone of Borini's quality as third choice when we have Suarez and Sturridge as first and second choice.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostNot sure I understand that point. I'm not a scoutOriginally posted by Shaggy View Post
Who is this mystery man? What striker who we could realistically target is going to challenge Suarez and/or Sturridge for a place in the team?! Whoever we sign in that position - if we sign anyone - is going to be back-up and he will know it.
I'd want a signing with enough talent to worry the other two. Spend a decent chunk of our budget on him. A real up and coming talent who'd keep the other two on their toes. It's unhealthy in the long run for them not to be challenged. Let's be honest Borini and Aspas are worrying no one.

I was so excited when we signed Cisse. Can't actually remember why mind. He turned out to be somewhat disappointing didn't he?
Baros I'll always hold dear because I won money due to him being top scorer at the Euros

Havent seen enough of Borini to really comment on his quality, but if we are playing 2 strikers, then we should have 2 decent ones in reserve too. Think of when we had Fowler, Owen, Litmanen & Heskey (when the latter was good for 18 months). Or when Scum had Cunt A, Cunt B, Cunt C & Cunt D and won the CL bringing the latter 2 on or whatever they did, the cunts.3rd place. Worst champions ever.
