maybe we will drop him off by parachute on the way over. its only a little de-tour but well worth the extra fuel

This may not work out for us as we were hoping.

Just knew the entire thing was too good to be true. We could be never so fortunate as to sell an unwanted squad player for a stupidly good price.

Season long loan deal back to Italy is the likely outcome I fear aka the end of a player's future and value.

Although £14m is a fantastic price for him if he stays its not the end of the world as it would have been in previous seasons as we still have a lot of cash to spend and aren't dependant on his sale plus if he stays we have a hungry striker with something to prove.

Maybe Rodgers told him something similar to what he told Shelvey, that he appreciates him as a player but cannot promise him playing time, except that unlike Shelvey Borini decided to stay and fight for his place. Maybe that can turn out to be a good thing in the end, we'll see.

As annoying as it may be, if it's true he's decided to try and fight for his place it's got to be admired really. I know I wouldn't wanna leave. Fair play to him.

His birds from Liverpool as well, still pretty young and he was travelling back whenever he could to see her.

He's young enough. He could give it one more season and if he can't make the breakthrough by then, he would still have options.....

It's not as if Sunderland are a Milan, Juve or atletico Madrid.....he will have just as good opportunities either in jan or next summer....

Him staying doesn't help anybody, neither us or him.

He is going to be 4th choice striker behind Sturridge, Remy and Lambert so his playing opportunities will be very limited bar some serious injuries to other 3.

He should go on a loan if he doesn't want to be sold to Sunderland so at least we can preserve his value and have someone else pay his wages.

All this is true of course but he'll see it differently. Self-belief and all that.

If only Aspas had shown the same desire.

He's staying and may well surprise us this season.
                                Are we winning?
