I don't buy the relegation battle argument. Think Sunderland will do ok this year and if he backs his own ability then he should be confident his signing would ensure that they are far from danger.

It's unlikely he'll join a league winner in any major country, so they best he can hope for is a decent cup run which he already had at Sunderland and could easily have had again.

I can't believe his decision not to go there was football related, but if he didn't want to live in Sunderland then that's fair enough.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Agree. I do think he still believes in himself enough to think he can make it here though. He seems to see himself as a top level footballer. Seems to feel he's above the level of a Sunderland or QPR, hence only moving there for daft money.

I think he needs a reality check though, not one top team in the Premier League would be remotely interested in signing him. Sunderland would probably have been ideal for him. Do well there and get a move to a Tottenham, Everton etc. which is probably about as good as he's ever going to achieve.

You can't blame the lad for believing in himself but I think he needs someone to set him straight.

Blimey, that's him told. It wasn't that long ago that Rodgers thought him good enough to blow a large chunk of our transfer budget on. If we did have an injury crisis and it was a choice of playing Borini or someone like Lallana up top I'd go with a recognised forward every day of the week.

Nowhere near as bad as some are making out.

He's exactly as bad as I'm making out i.e. not actually that bad at all!

I simply said he will never be good enough to get games for us but can make it at a level below us. What's wrong in that?

I just think he should have took the chance to play football somewhere else, but on the flipside I can appreciate he's not ready to give it up here yet, and in a way that's also commendable, if (IMO only) a mistake.

He's a striker who doesn't score goals, like a defender who can't tackle or a goalkeeper who can't make saves. Pretty much useless.

That's far too harsh imo. Career stats so far of better than 1 in 4, not good but given his age, number of moves etc it could be a lot worse.... like Welbeck say. He's not of the standard required to be a starter at Anfield but he really isn't useless either.

I'd rather have Borini than N'Gog.
                  Oh I don't know.

Welback for me, I think he'd deputise for Sturridge better than Borini but meh to the question...

                          3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I'm still quietly happy that we have 4 decent strikers. Borini may be hit and miss, but how many times has he actually played up front or part of a front two for us?
Do we have any young reserves good enough to step in if we suffer injuries?
I can understand Rodgers is confused he's turned down regular football - but if he wants to stay then I'm sure he could be used at some stage.

No. There's a dearth of young strikers in the youth setup from what I can see.
