I really can't understand the abuse he gets.

Sure he's not good enough, but he's utterly determined to try and make his way here.

Want him gone? Yeah. But how the **** can anyone give him grief?

Because he must know he's never going to be our main striker. He had the opportunity to move to Sunderland where he would have been a dead cert starter but decided to stay and fight an un-winnable fight.

Maybe he looked at Balotelli and Lambert in training and thought I have a decent shot at being the second striker after Sturridge. We cannot criticize Sterling for wanting to leave and then Borini for wanting to stay.

He is by no means good enough to start for us, but Rodgers should have given him more games. He definitely could not have been more **** than Balotelli and Lambert and he would have given us some movement and pressing upfront. We could have even got a decent fee for him this summer.

I think it was all to do with money

The guy has been ****ed about by football clubs all his short career ... moving every 6 months or so ... I for one dont blame him wanted to try and establish himself

Anytime he has been given a chance he has worked his ball off

good player has not worked out ... time really now to move on

I'd have played him as our main striker this season considering the competition was Lambert (plan B target man) and Balotelli who in hindsight was a bad move.

I've said it time and time again he might not be the best finisher in the world but his movement, pressing and pace causes problems for the opposition. Even if he doesn't touch the ball, closing down defences or making space for other players when we're in possession is something that we played on massively last year with Sturridge and Suarez, so to freeze Borini out makes no sense to me.

Now Ings is here and knowing that BR obviously doesn't rate him, I can't see him getting a minute of game time, so I expect him to be moved on. I fully expect the Liverpool way of loaning him out with us paying his wages in full.

I said a few times last year that he was IMO the best option of Borini, Balotelli and Lambert (not high praise admittedly), but the truth be told none of those three are good enough, and all of them should be moved on in the summer. I am not sure what the deal with Borini was, Rodgers had worked with him before so it is difficult to see why he bought him but never used him.

I think Ings and Origi are more the type of players we need than Lambert and Balotelli and are hoepfully more suited to the league, so hopefully that in itself will offer some improvement on this season, but we also need to sign another striker.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

is there much difference between Ings and Borini when he signed?

Young, off the back of a good season, and on the verge of a full international call up

Origi had played regularly at the world cup. Not exactly on the verge. But you are right in essence. In reality it doesn't mean anything. Borini came and we hoped he'd kick on and improve. He never settled and has never improved.

There won't be too many Young players who will arrive as ready made players for the first team. The hope is they settle quickly and improve. The reality is we don't know how Origi will adapt.

                          Great analysis Danny

But as my teacher always used to say, the trick is to RTFQ.

Borini was a regular in the season for Roma before he signed for us, I actually do, and have always thought, that there's a player in there somewhere, just won't seem to click for him.

9 goals in 24 games he got for them.
                            11 in 37 for Ings.

Obviously stats don't tell a whole story, and Borini was younger.
The times they are a changin'.

I'm sure he'd have got a payrise out of the move too, moving to a senior contract.

But he didn't do the easy thing, he stayed to fight for his dream, I admire that.

He's got the bottle, balls and conviction that far too many of our players are missing.

I'm sad its not worked out and wish him nothing but the best. Anyone chucking him pelter's is a cunt who needs a slap. IMO.
