Think he's been pretty prolific for 3 years now and considering his age that's pretty impressive. Think too much was expected of him too young and his critics have been overly harsh, but he definitely looks like he's starting to fulfil his potential.

People often use Wenger’s opinion for the benchmark for young players, so if he's so determined to keep him then I wouldn’t be surprised to see further improvement.

So, after all the negotiations and refusal to pay him the £90K a week that he wants, Arsenal's best tactic is to give him the money he wants.

      Well in, Arsene.

this has been pathetic from the start. I dont think he ever wanted to leave. His agent mentioned other clubs like us to put pressure on Wenger. He sat back and pissed himself laughing whilst the Arse completely mishandled the situation. they back down, he gets his dough.

        Move on everyone.

I've said since day one - we were never getting, he's never wanted to leave.

Good work Theo's agent. He successfully used other clubs as leverage to get the deal he wanted. If it was us getting done over like this by a player we would be outraged. Feel for Arsenal because he has never really convinced me. Well, until this season slightly with his goals.

I'm surprised Arsenal didn't play that card when negotiating.

Seriously though, they may have paid more than they hoped but obviously a lot of peole at the club think he's worth it, as do a lot of the club that were waiting on the wings happy to snap him up if available.

Compared to what we are paying Sterling, this is far from outrageous.

So is it just a coincidence that he signs after Arsenal finally start playing in the middle?

Someone on the radio yesterday was saying that they think its a case of Theo saying to himself '**** it, ill just play down the middle how I want and if they re-sign me, then so be it'

Think thats too simplistic, but it is a good way of looking at what his attitude could have been.

                    Not sure what you mean?

Although Arsene picked him centrally, he asked him to play differently than he is?

No, I think it was about Walcott basically saying play me in the middle or I'm off. I dont know that to be true. But it could be. It is certainly a good hand to have for leverage, being able to leave the club for nothing.

Aye, I think the position thing has as much to do with it as the money. Most of the posts in here are suggesting he was holding Arsenal to ransom over his wages, but all the reports say his main concern was having a chance in the centre and lo and behold, he signs after Arsene agrees to play him there.

I think fair play to him for sticking to his guns and still would have loved if we signed him.

I know, and once he signs, lets see if Wenger continues to play him there. He has Giroud and Podulski to accommodate too.

theo must have been well fed up watching his graft getting spunked by classless hoofers like chamakh and knew he could do no worse.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I can still see him playing on the wing a lot, but do think Wenger will use him more in the centre as I'm sure they agreed.

Podolski has played wide all season anyway so I can't see that changing and personally I have my doubts about Giroud, although it's early days.
