he has had a few games were he has been adequate, and maybe one or two were i would reluctantly agree he was very good, but these are usually when the who team clicks and he does his bit.
he doesnt make me feel he could ever be a player who could consistently help us through difficult games.

even defenders should be able to hit the target if they get the chance to shoot. to excuse certain members of the team as they are just a cog, not expected to do that role, or some other manner of making out he is that much of a tika taka specialist that we could possibly excuse some basic lack of footballing skill is just strange.
there have always been certain players who we never expected to score, carra, lucas, etc, but they more than made up for this in many other areas.

He may not be everybody's cup of tea but he is almost perfect for BR style of play.

The goal is to get the ball back as soon as possible once you lose the possession and he is very, very good in reading, anticipating, intercepting and breaking up plays.

He can track back and help the fullbacks and then move very quickly forward and provide support in numbers to our attack.

He is not flashy but he is a very important player in BR midfield.

We didn't batter a side 5-0 at the end of the season who are playing for their premier league survival and players are labeled "dog poo" etc...... Last time I checked we've taken 32 points from 36 available and not lost a game this calendar year in the league.

I'm not entirely sure what people expect from him, he clearly has a job in the side which he's obviously doing otherwise he'd be jettisoned for someone else.

Did well today again. I think it's fantastic that we have the likes of Joe and Lucas who can come in - both are intelligent, bright lads who totally get what Rodgers wants from them. Tactically excellent, and both more than good enough on the ball to slot in seamlessly.

The way he reacted early on in the penalty box when Norwich had a chance to score from a snap shot (think it was from a corner). So quick and alert.

Yeah that was crucial. Still hasn't hit the level he showed in his early games for us but he's come back from his slump to prove he can be a really solid performer if nothing else.

There'll always be one or two that will never give him credit. But the vast majority of fair minded Liverpool fans recognise his qualities.

Good squad player, definitely wouldn't sell. Not sure he'll be a regular starter as i said in our previous chats about him but good player to have in our squad.
