Once Lucas and Gerrard leave end of season we''ll be seeing a huge amount more of Allen so dont expect him to be going anywhere. Rodgers is happy with him.

he might be on low wages. im sure many of our yoof would offer more and for less than 25k [guesstimate?] a week. twenty five thousand English pounds every ****ing week. just for being brendans friend

We can't lose Lucas and not replace him, I think Rodgers won't do it. It would be like throwing a whole season away again.Originally posted by vlahka View PostOnce Lucas and Gerrard leave end of season we''ll be seeing a huge amount more of Allen so dont expect him to be going anywhere. Rodgers is happy with him.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I dont know. Not replacing Suarez was pretty huge in the stupid department. I honestly see Allen as a regular next season. Rather not but yeah.Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostWe can't lose Lucas and not replace him, I think Rodgers won't do it. It would be like throwing a whole season away again.

I'm not sure that there are many times where there is a natural position for him any more. The two formations that have worked for us really well - the diamond and the 3-4-2-1 only suit him if we alter the midfield to accommodate him. That doesn't seem the sort of back up we need.Originally posted by Rich View PostHe's probably worth keeping around because a) he doesn't seem to complain when he's not playing b) he's probably on realistic wages c) we'd lose a lot of the £15m.
He's very much a back-up player for me and shouldn't be relied upon for a stretch of games, unless he has a monster backing him up. (Can?)
I don't think he is a bad player. I just think he doesn't fit the team or styles that work for us. This is made worse by the fact his injury record with us has meant that he isn't really a reliable backup who we could adapt to fill specific roles.
I don't think we should worry about losing money on players if we end up with a better squad."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

I think Shaggy is right that Allen needs a run of games (and of course to be fully match fit) before he finds his best form. He started off his career here really well for the first few months, but he's struggled since then.
However I just don't think he warrants a run in the team. Where does he fit in? Who will he replace? He's not **** - not by a long way - but I just don't think he contributes enough to be a regular. He's tidy on the ball, can play a good pass and neat in possession but I don't think that's enough.
He's also at an age where he's unlikely to accept 30 minutes every two weeks and a couple of cup games here and there.

Yeah, hes not ****. He has proven that in the past. I just dont think he fits in, especially given the players who are ahead of him.
Id guess he will leave in the summer having never really made an impact. Seems like a good professional who gets his head down and doesnt sound off. So he will get a decent club.*Except Michael, who died.
