Once Lucas and Gerrard leave end of season we''ll be seeing a huge amount more of Allen so dont expect him to be going anywhere. Rodgers is happy with him.

i wouldnt trust him to be the tealadys understudy.

he might be on low wages. im sure many of our yoof would offer more and for less than 25k [guesstimate?] a week. twenty five thousand English pounds every ****ing week. just for being brendans friend

We can't lose Lucas and not replace him, I think Rodgers won't do it. It would be like throwing a whole season away again.
        * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I dont know. Not replacing Suarez was pretty huge in the stupid department. I honestly see Allen as a regular next season. Rather not but yeah.

His timid and weak application reminds me of Downing. I just don't think he's up to playing for a top 6 club.

He's very much a back-up player for me and shouldn't be relied upon for a stretch of games, unless he has a monster backing him up. (Can?)
I'm not sure that there are many times where there is a natural position for him any more. The two formations that have worked for us really well - the diamond and the 3-4-2-1 only suit him if we alter the midfield to accommodate him. That doesn't seem the sort of back up we need.

I don't think he is a bad player. I just think he doesn't fit the team or styles that work for us. This is made worse by the fact his injury record with us has meant that he isn't really a reliable backup who we could adapt to fill specific roles.

I don't think we should worry about losing money on players if we end up with a better squad.

I think he's better than what he's showing but if he's not going to show it after countless opportunities, then that in itself is not good enough.

Let's put it this way; if he was a youth player being tossed off the ball at least twice every game then we'd all be saying 'he's not ready, needs to beef up'. But he's a 24 year old man and supposedly a first team squad player. I'd rather we played a young reserve player in fact.

Think we're being harsh on him. Playing him with Gerrard didn't do either any favours, and he's returning from injury as well. Having said that, he does need to eventually up his game. Rodgers would probably relook his position in the squad in the summer.

I think Shaggy is right that Allen needs a run of games (and of course to be fully match fit) before he finds his best form. He started off his career here really well for the first few months, but he's struggled since then.

However I just don't think he warrants a run in the team. Where does he fit in? Who will he replace? He's not **** - not by a long way - but I just don't think he contributes enough to be a regular. He's tidy on the ball, can play a good pass and neat in possession but I don't think that's enough.

He's also at an age where he's unlikely to accept 30 minutes every two weeks and a couple of cup games here and there.

Yeah, hes not ****. He has proven that in the past. I just dont think he fits in, especially given the players who are ahead of him.

Id guess he will leave in the summer having never really made an impact. Seems like a good professional who gets his head down and doesnt sound off. So he will get a decent club.
                          *Except Michael, who died.

rodgers needs to sit him down and tell him that we will be sending him out on loan or he can get his agent to look for a new club for him.
