Thanks for turning up. I was looking for the exact words to your condescending sig.Originally posted by saj View PostI didn't make too many comparisons to Xavi! What I did say was that I felt at 22, Xavi was not a good a player as Allen is now. Then I got torn to bits and have been having nightmares ever since
Will you be changing it now?

No. As they are a mish mash of other peoples quotes! Well I added the Tom Cruise bit and the part about walking on water and turning water into wineOriginally posted by BigChief View PostThanks for turning up. I was looking for the exact words to your condescending sig.

Pretty average I think. I'm basking of the glory of having banged the Joe Allen drum for ages now so it's only fair I'm up front about the other one I banged last season.Originally posted by dom9 View PostAt the moment, I'd see he's the only that really gets the new tactics. That's to be expected of course, but he's excelling.
How is Sigurdsson doing at Spurs?
He was taken off at half-time yesterday. I've seen him twice for them and he's had very quiet games. Early days though and I maintain he's gonna be a great player. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I stand by everything I said. And if you check through those pages, I also said I didn't mind us signing him. I just wasn't happy with fee and the fact we needed strengthening in other areas at the time.Originally posted by BigChief View PostI've had to go back to the (closed) Joe Allen Transfer thread to find the context. They are a mish mash of other people's quotes but page 20 onwards of that thread doesn't do you, or Tee, any favours.
So, new sig...

I was the other way, I would have been happier Sigurdson than Allen. I know it's early days but I think we have done pretty well dodging Sigurdson and getting Allen. Allen has turned out to be amazing but my reason for wanting Sigurdson more was that he scored goals and he could have been a long term replacement for Gerrard. But Shelvey will be that man and to be fair, I've always had faith in Shelvey. The rate at which he is improving/learning/progressing is phenomenal. And Suso, I don't need to say any more on him - everyone knows how amazing he is so **** Sigurdson!Originally posted by BigChief View PostFair enough, was only pulling your leg.
Shaggy, Sigurddson I was happy we didn't sign. We had enough Steve Sidwell type players at this club without adding to the masses. Like Michu, he looks great when scoring goals but decidely average when not.My kebab comes with chilli sauce

What I like about him is that he is not holding onto the ball at all.
He passes right away and does it so effortlessly.
I also love how he reads the game.
Very, very smart footballer.
He really has the potential to be one of our best signings in a long time.Last edited by Mostar; 25-09-12, 02:12 AM.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

I wish we'd signed Sigurdsson for two reasons:
- We could field a front six of:
Shelvey-----Sahin-------Suso---
Sterling----Suarez---Sigurdsson
- According to saj, Sigurdsson is better at 22 than Iniesta was.
.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Hmm, looking at that post now, they're not very good reasons really..

There's definitely a bit of Craig H-esq revisionism going on
