Thanjk you.

I think one of Allens biggest problems is that he isnt strong enough
He looks weak as a kitten in there and easily shrugged off the ball/robbed of possession
Maybe that the cause of this is that the midfield lacks balance
I expected Lucas to address the balance of the side when he returned but he hasnt done so yet, maybe understandably considering his long lay off
IMO we look a far more balanced side with Henderson in there, than we do with Allen in the middle
i like allen a lot.
there's a fantastic midfield player waiting to come out and im sure he will. At the moment rodgers is having to compromise his style to accomodate gerrard which means lucas has to baby sit him next to him.
Allen then is pushed further forward which isnt his position either because he's a lot of things but a n0.10 he isnt. he doesnt look overly comfortable in the final third.
I also agree that if gerrard plays in the three it should be henderson not allen who starts with lucas as the holder.
to get allen into the team, we need to move gerrard to the right.

WTGOR that is a load of baloney mate. Allen does not need a minder, nor does it need Gerrard moving to the right to get the best out of him.
The simple fact of the matter, and it has been clear for all of us to see, is that he has struggled to assert himself in games for several reasons (lack of strength, questionable mobility, poor passing and a lack of vision with forward passing are some examples of what I have seen on several occasions).
Personally I don't think he is that good a DM or even CM so am not really sure what role he is going to effectively play in a successful LFC team long term. I hope he goes on and improves and proves me wrong, but for £15m we should be doing a lot better than him (yes, even thinking long term).

If we sold Allen tomorrow because its "not working out" like we did with Sahin, what would people's opinions be?
If we got £15m back, great. But what is he worth now, be honest, if we were to sell him tomorrow what would we get? So really, no point, keep him and hopefully develop him, with reserve football and not rely solely on him in one of the most important positions on the pitch.

Not singling out any posts or anything like that, but this thread is ****ing hilarious.
Early stages of this thread had various comments around his value to the team, how he's doubled in value (Brendan's "doubled in value" quote hasn't helped either), how ****ing brilliant he is etc etc etc.......
Its fascinating to see what its turned into.

He is a young lad with big potential. Hamann was not physically imposing but shielded the ball exceptionally well to the point of falling over. Allen will learn just like Xavi did with the physically aspects of playing for a top side that is pressed for the ball. He has the techincally ability. In defense of his case he has yet to consisentley play in his position. Even throughout most games and since the start of the season he is being asked to switch from one role to the other to cover mainly for Lucas and when he is not on the pitch.
His awareness and ability to find space, movement with or without the football on pitch is far better standard then Adam or Spearing.
