Lallana will be the next in line to play in that midfield 3. I think its a better balance with him, Hendo and Gerrard. Something different from all three. More chance of goals/assists with that trio as wel.

Agreed and this looks nailed onto happen. I'm looking forwards to it as we'll be a much better proposition with someone able to make runs from deep and being able offer a spark. Coutinho offered similar last year when he played in the central 3, but is a little bit lightweight and as such he can be taken advantage of. Lallana is no Roy Keane but he gets stuck in a bit more and offers more balance.Originally posted by john316 View PostLallana will be the next in line to play in that midfield 3. I think Song can play the box-to-box role as well. In his last season with Arsenal he got up and down pretty well and contributed a few assists and goals.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostI like Song, but he'd play in front of the back 4, and as we have Gerrard, that isn't going to happen. What we need is a high energy midfielder who can play box to box on the side. Another Henderson if you like. But that's not going to happen either.......I wear my heart on my profile name.

Well I'd like us to sign him anyway, but if could also offer that he'd be ideal. Hopefully we've offered to take him & he's weighing up his options.Originally posted by I, Ravel Morrison View PostI think Song can play the box-to-box role as well. Personally delighted to see him back, he's been pretty unfortunate with injuries since joining us. Think he is a dead cert to start on Wednesday. I hope so anyway.
He's not the most popular player from what I can gather, but I really like him. Plays with his brain, anticipates well, gets stuck into the opposition midfield, rarely loses possession, his movement is clever which often goes unnoticed and he moves the ball on quickly. I think there is always a place in any midfield for a player like him and he operates very well with Henderson in the advanced 2 centre mid roles.Sack swinging like Dub-D40 on a door hinge

Yep, a quality player. The critics are bizarre, then again it's the same people who had written off Raheem and Hendo so...Great to have him back whether it's starting or as a sub, he seems to be able to make a good impact in both roles. Would defo start him in the week if he's fit enough.Originally posted by wiw View PostPersonally delighted to see him back, he's been pretty unfortunate with injuries since joining us. I think he is cog in the wheel type of player. On his own he might not be great but I think he's important to our team. Look forward to see him line up with Hendo and Coutinho/Lallana. We need two players IMO to make this squad decent, a Mascherano and a Villa/Suarez/Sanchez type.....diet of course.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

never really liked him.
a few decent games when he first came in, and the odd few games were he wasnt the worst, mainly thanks to glen just pipping him to the fart in the spacesuit prize.
get him sold.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

He's not a bad player. As many say he's neutral. Keeps possession well, but isn't effective at winning it back due to his size and doesn't score or assist.Originally posted by baitman View Postnever really liked him.

In the right set up he's okay. I wouldn't lose any sleep if he was sold. He's unlikely to be on high wages though & I doubt we'd get much in the way of a transfer fee. Probably not worth selling him.Forwards.......
