Agreed and this looks nailed onto happen. I'm looking forwards to it as we'll be a much better proposition with someone able to make runs from deep and being able offer a spark. Coutinho offered similar last year when he played in the central 3, but is a little bit lightweight and as such he can be taken advantage of. Lallana is no Roy Keane but he gets stuck in a bit more and offers more balance.

I like Song, but he'd play in front of the back 4, and as we have Gerrard, that isn't going to happen. What we need is a high energy midfielder who can play box to box on the side. Another Henderson if you like. But that's not going to happen either.......

I think Song can play the box-to-box role as well. In his last season with Arsenal he got up and down pretty well and contributed a few assists and goals.

Well I'd like us to sign him anyway, but if could also offer that he'd be ideal. Hopefully we've offered to take him & he's weighing up his options.

We could conceivably spend that on somebody who could be a cornerstone player. Not a handy squad man who can fill in!

He could grow to be a very important first team player in the future.

If we had a deal in place for a player like Vidal I definitely would. Allen's a good player, but he's hardly going to win a rival the league.

Personally delighted to see him back, he's been pretty unfortunate with injuries since joining us. Think he is a dead cert to start on Wednesday. I hope so anyway.

He's not the most popular player from what I can gather, but I really like him. Plays with his brain, anticipates well, gets stuck into the opposition midfield, rarely loses possession, his movement is clever which often goes unnoticed and he moves the ball on quickly. I think there is always a place in any midfield for a player like him and he operates very well with Henderson in the advanced 2 centre mid roles.

Personally I was glad to see Emre Can back and getting some valuable game time. When he is fully match fit and up to speed with the PL he is going to be a very important player for us.

Yep, a quality player. The critics are bizarre, then again it's the same people who had written off Raheem and Hendo so...Great to have him back whether it's starting or as a sub, he seems to be able to make a good impact in both roles. Would defo start him in the week if he's fit enough.

He's not a bad player. As many say he's neutral. Keeps possession well, but isn't effective at winning it back due to his size and doesn't score or assist.

In the right set up he's okay. I wouldn't lose any sleep if he was sold. He's unlikely to be on high wages though & I doubt we'd get much in the way of a transfer fee. Probably not worth selling him.

Glad to see looking back through this thread that I was on the money pretty much from the outset when it came to judging the Welsh Xavi.
