What a performance today. It is clear as day that he improves with a run of games, to get into a rhythm. He's a good player, great to have around, and should absolutely stay as a part of our squad.

Excellent today, raised his game and if keeps that level of performance he deserves to stay in the team.

Had a cracking game today. Was fearing the worst when Lucas got injured but Allen has come in and been excellent.

Really? Don't understand how anyone could be very critical of him today.

I can only think that they must have just been saying what they think they're supposed to say about Joe Allen

Maybe they need to hear other people big him up before they follow suit.

Allen did well today, but obviously not as well as some of the posters in this thread feel they've done themselves what with all the petty point scoring from the usual subjects.

Will be interesting to see what happens when both lucas and gerrard come back into the group but i think brendog would be silly to change the formation in the next month or two...

Formation wont change, but I would put Sakho & Lucas straight back in

I would too, but with Allen in this form it means we can afford to rotate our midfield more often to keep it fresh.

We dont have a massive amount of concern now we are out of Europe, unless we get a replay in the Cup we are probably only going to be playing once a week
