This is one of the rare threads that usually stays resolutely on topic and you just had to ruin it.

I think one of the issues is that a perfect Joe Allen game would be hard to assess - quick, accurate recycling of the ball and tactically aware positioning are a) hard to pick out a lot of the time and b) dependent on others performances to be effective. So assessing a Joe Allen performance is always likely to be divisive. Over a run of games however it is clear that he is working well in our system.

As Daniel talks about perception, I'm not missing Lucas one bit. Not one single, little bit. And seeing as Lucas was the first name on the teamsheet a few months ago that is saying A LOT.

(ps. I'd love Lucas back fit and ready ASAP, this isn't to diss Lucas).

the game i watched today had us being bullied all over the pitch, nothing to do with one player , our most important game of the season and nobody delivered until it was too late ,
