now we know why pascoe was given the chop...
Joe Allen has expressed disappointment at the departure of Liverpool FC assistant manager Colin Pascoe.
Pascoe has parted company with the Reds, having served as No.2 to boss Brendan Rodgers since 2012.
The Welshman had a year left on his contract at Anfield, but was informed earlier this month that he was, along with first-team coach Mike Marsh, to be moved on as part of a staff reshuffle following the club’s end-of-season review.
Allen worked under Pascoe at Swansea City, prior to the pair’s move to Merseyside, and the midfielder says he has played a key role in his career development.
“I’m very disappointed, he’s been someone who’s been instrumental in my career,” said Allen.
“We’ve worked together for... must be nine years, so he’s been a huge part of my career, a massive help to me on a personal level.
“I’m very grateful for all the effort he’s put in with me and it’s certainly without someone like Pasc’s help I doubt I’d be playing at a club like Liverpool.”
