As said already, he can be impressive in a team that is in form, but when others don't turn up he offers nothing to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and drag us over the line. Nor does he stem the tide when others are on top of us.

Hopefully next season he'll be used sparingly, he started 30 games this season! He's just not good enough to be a starter. Not a fan of his and never will be, did ok in some games last season but for the most part he was just there.

His best mate, Leon Britton, is supposedly looking for a transfer from Swansea after Gary Monk has told him he's going to be limited in terms of playing time. Surely it'd be worth a £25m bid to get him reunited with Joe here?

Aye, Can had a nightmare 2015 being forced to play RCB. Hopefully the young lads confidence isn't permanently destroyed. Sure it's one of several baffling decisions made by Rodgers last season. IMO Joe Allen is the definition of distinctly average.

for ****s sake mate, give it a rest. Can was nowhere near ready to play centre midfield. Everytime he started he looked lost and leggy. Rodgers bringing him at right centre back was a great move. For the first 10 games or so he was getting rave reviews. It enabled Can to get game experience and show his class. He was switched to right back as an emergency. I think his form dropped off as he's a young player in his first season experiencing the pace of the league. The fact the team struggled so badly naturally affected his confidence.

I've no doubt this season under his belt will help Can going forwards. I think we will see him play more often in Midfield. But I don't think he's ready yet to be a guaranteed starter.

Can was over played this season. He did great for a time deputising at RCB, even looked like a mainstay there at one point but when his performances started to falter badly, he was making mistakes, getting caught out of position & teams were targeting him. IMO Rodgers should have got him out of that position quick smart.

I don't think anyone expected Can to play so much football this season & for the last few months his legs have looked completely burned out. Opposition were targeting him for months in that position. Lousy for the lad as he looked brimming with confidence previous. IMO if a young talented player is going through a bad time, especially when your playing him out of position, pull him out of the spotlight as surely that's not good for his development?

I agree he didn't look great when moved into CM, but that was very rare Rodgers actually played him there. Handful of games? Allen does ok but IMO he's just a squad player that should be used sparingly.
