Real Madrid"s secret weapon designed by an Englishman

That's pretty underwhelming. Not sure what I was expecting, but some kind of poison at least.

As secret weapons go, it's not really working that well is it.

tbh, I only found it because i was searching for Joses foam finger, that he apparently uses to point at someone to say..'it's your fault', just caught the last bit of Graham Hunter talking and heard him say it about Maureen, not sure if he means he points at the crowd ?

He's taking some Real stick at the mo.

I don't watch nearly enough Spanish football to have a strong opinion. A lot of respected/intelligent commentators seem to imply that a lot of the league is less strong.

Isn't football on a whole just getting more equal? Maybe there are just more competitive teams around, both in La Liga and the PL. Why should La Liga be any weaker now than three years ago for example?
            * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Is it? I would have thought there is as big if not bigger gap between top and bottom compared to previous seasons in both divisions in the last few years.

The reason that La Liga might be less competitive is pretty clear - Real and Barcelona have sucked up the better players from the other teams and the rest of the division seem to lack funds post-economic crisis to replace players. In the PL it seems more to be about a lot of teams reaching the end of the last cycle of investment having not planned well in the long term.

Impossible mate. Don't you know there aren't any more rich sheikhs around.

People are going to be talking about Messi in 40/50 years time and I'm gonna be able to say I got to see him play.

We're going to run out of superlatives. And he seems such a decent, likeable guy too.

He has - and can do - everything.

                          2 more today. 84 goals in 2012.

Depends where you look. Some are classing Messi's first goal as an own goal. Watching last night, I'd have to give give as an OG too as it looked like it was going wide.

Real Madrid vs Atletico was hilarious. Diego Costa was crazy at times with his fouls and trying to wind up Pepe, Ramos, Khedira, Alonso, Di Maria and Falcao's theatrical dive after Ramos swung his arm out was just as good.

Awful game in terms of quality, but the aggression in the game from Atletico was funny.

Marca and some of the other Spanish papers reporting Mourinho to leave at the end of the season as his relationship with Perez is 'broken'

Doesn't surprise me, he really is a short term manager.
He'll bring you success but will he build a legacy at a club?
