Not really sure that Allen, Lucas and Sahin will be the 3 in midfield. Not sure how Rodgers will fit in Gerrard but as have been said for a long time here, he is ill suited to that kind of passing, patient game that Rodgers wants us to adopt. Don't think he has the pace to be an explosive 'winger' on the right as well.

He doesn't need to have the old explosive pace he used to have. He's still quick enough to be effective and his delivery from the right is better than anybody else's in the squad. He might be 32, but he's the best attacking midfielder on the right we have.

So happy about this. A signing out of the top drawer. I'm amazed we got him. Hopefully he'll love it, have a good season and sign permanently next summer but we'll deal with that then. For now I'm made up - the middle three of Lucas, Allen & Sahin is awesome.
