I would ignore the numbers touted about, most if not all are going to be guesses.

Our first 11 IMO is now not a million miles off a top 4 side, need to see how it gels but for me it looks bloody good.

Hopefully if we can keep this group of players together we'll be looking at making tweaks next summer rather than wholesale changes yet again

Brilliant signing! i have no problem with signing quality loan players, even if they are only here for a year they can give us the boost we need to compete for CL spots! Then we can buy real quality more easily again.

The mighty Metro have finally announced it so it must be done

The 23-year-old's decision to opt for Anfield over the Emirates, subject to a medical, is another backwards step for the Gunners who had hoped to use him to cover the loss of Alex Song to Barcelona last week.
A number of clubs were keen on taking the Turkish international on loan, but Brendan Rodgers won the race over Arsene Wenger after Liverpool offered to pay a large proportion of his £115,000 a week wages.
Arsenal will now need to explore other midfield options to bolster a depleted side still reeling from the departure of captain and top goalscorer Robin van Persie to rivals Manchester United.
Sahin joined the Spanish giants on a six-year deal last summer from Borussia Dortmund, where he won the Bundesliga title and picked up Germany's Player of the Year award.
But he has found first-team football difficult to come by at the Bernabeau, making just 11 appearances in his maiden season.
Sahin is Turkey’s youngest ever goalscorer, netting on his debut in 2005 and has since made 31 appearances for his country.
He will join the likes of Fabio Borini and Joe Allen as the new faces at Anfield this summer as Rodgers looks to guide his side to a stronger campaign this season.
Last year's eighth-place finish - below crosstown rivals Everton - ended with Kenny Dalglish being sacked by the club.

Seems the Gooners fans have it down as £11m we've paid for the loan - it'll be £12m before we play them in a week or so

Still lokos a bit goalshy to me. It is however a solid squad you can see being able to play as Rodgers wants to.

My feeling is that at heart he is a pretty contolling/defensive manager. Perhaps we'll have to have a season where we win a lot of games 1-0 but we could still challenge.

and if he works out and he enjoys it, maybe he'll want to join us. And if it doesn't, we can look elsewhere. No issue as long as we're not loaning many players.

Wasn't so long ago that people who even considered the notion we could finish top 4 were told they were Idiots.

How do people feel now ?

Where are the goals suddenly coming from?

If, as speculated, we are to pay most of Sahins £115,000 pw wages, we'd only pay for the time he's here right & not the whole season so wage wise we could be up for about £5m?

In all honesty I still think its too early to consider top 4 is achievable. Maybe next season.

I'm not getting too worked up just yet as the side needs time & until I see an out & out goal scoring machine signed I'll maintain that opinion.

Doesn't matter what the wage is. Rodgers values him and we've made it happen. A sign of ambition.

I'm not too worried about signing a goal machine, we sign them and they stop scoring, so no real gain , i'm confident that the players we have will deliver goals this season, and maybe that we'll add another striker if AC leaves, but if not i'm still happy enough.
