Skrtel wouldn't be seen dead in a girlie mask like that. #hardenupprincess.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

I have to say I've been disappointed by what I've seen from him so far

Be interesting to see what'll happen when his loan spell is over. Might move back to Dortmund as he probably will never make it at Real.

He doesn't seem like he wants to be here to be honest, maybe he's struggling to adapt, but it's like he's only here because he has to be. Disappointing because after the Norwich game I thought he'd be a big player for us this year.

Sahin claims he is being played out of position by Liverpool boss Rodgers

Nuri Sahin believes Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is playing him in the wrong position.

The Turkish midfielder has been played in an advanced role behind striker Luis Suarez but he would rather start in a deeper position.

Sahin, 24, was signed from Real Madrid on a season-long loan in the summer.

He said: 'I’ve played my whole career deeper – that’s my position.

'But I have played as a No 10 here. It was new for me but I tried my best.

'If I could choose a position it would be holding, as I feel more comfortable playing deeper and can give my all.'

Sahin played in a holding midfield position for German side Borussia Dortmund before Madrid picked him up.

But under Jose Mourinho in Spain he failed to flourish - injuries hampered his progress and Sahin only played four times as Madrid won La Liga.

Sahin may be required to fulfil the advanced role again today because Liverpool have lost their only fit striker, Luis Suarez, to suspension.

The Uruguayan is banned for the trip to West Ham because he has accrued five yellow cards this season in the Barclays Premier League.

He'd be gash as an English league holding midfielder, barely has a tackle in him.

Exactly, and that's why Brendan isn't playing him there.

Although he clearly needs to be a bit braver, I think with him alongside a ball-winner - i.e. Lucas - he'd be fine. I'd to see us go 4-2-3-1, rotating Allen and Sahin for the role alongside Lucas. All three of them in a 433 does look too negative.

Our midfield three are too negative they offer little going forward

We've got the best midfield in the world!
                        We've got Xabi Alonso,
                        Momo Sissoko,
                        Gerrard and Mascheranoooo-oooh oooh

God I loved that song!!! And that midfield.

Definitely, his left foot also gives us a cracking balance. I wanna see Allen pushed forward a little more as that's what Rodgers bought him for.

Trouble is Gerrard wants the Allen or the Sahin roles

I think people tend to over estimate the value of tackling in the PL. Good interceptions can be just as/more valuable. This isn't to say that it should be completely discounted and I do think that for a variety of reasons you need some defensive physicality in PL midfields. Whether it has to come from the deepest DM is, I think, an open debate. Also worth looking at how lacking in 'bite' recent Man U midfields have been but still prospered.

So true. And that is the type of DM he is as far as I know.
