We won't sign him unless it's for a ridiculously cheap deal. He's dodgy knees are a problem & with our luck they'll probably give in the day he signs for us!

The answer would be zero. Stoke turned him down as apparently he has a dodgy knee the clowns
.
He has had one major injury in his career and that was at Hoffenheim I think - that was a broken leg. Other than that he has been as good as gold. A cracking player who operates a shoot on sight policy. Whether he fits the 4-3-3 system with Suarez is another matter. With the number of chances we create, he will easily bang in 20+ goals a seasonMy kebab comes with chilli sauce

Aye, the fit isn't natural. However he has worked hard on the wing for Newcastle at times which is a promising sign. Also I think in the long run we need to look at how football is evolving - the top teams have at least 3, usually 4 forwards in the squad and even if they can't fit in the team together the squad benefits from different goal scoring options."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

I've got mad about the "dodgy knees" comments on here numerous times before
He played 34 out of 38 games in the Premier League for Newcastle last season and he's already made 15 out of 15 appearances this season. That's 4 league games missed in a season and a half. What a crock
Any player in the world could get injured at any point, but to try to pretend his leg is going to fall off at the knee any minute is ludicrous given those stats

He did work hard on the wing but he was stifled out there. He is just a pure out and out striker. I would love Suarez to play behind him but then that would mean Suarez would probably score less goals. But I agree, we need multiple forwards BUT with the formation Brendon prefers, I think we only need 2 or 3 max. I would be quite happy with Suarez, Ba and Borini (although I have reservations on Borini).Originally posted by dww View PostAye, the fit isn't natural. He was stifled on the wing but he was playing alongside an out and out striker. If we play Suarez centrally then there will always be times when the traditional CF position is free for a wide player to move across into. Perhaps not idea for him as an individual but could work for the team.Originally posted by saj View PostHe did work hard on the wing but he was stifled out there. except that i think if suarez was behind the main striker he would be in a far better position to influence more of the play, and others would end up getting on the end of his creativity. goals for all, yo ho ho

I fully agreeOriginally posted by Bender View Postthe one thing we do need is a striker in the 6 yard box
and Suarez is not that man. Ba fits the bill nicely

But it comes down to that ******* 4-3-3 (which IMO is really a 4-2-3-1). Assume you have 2 wingers either side of a box striker like Ba, then Suarez plays where Gerrard is now in the number 10 position. Where does Gerrard go then? Does Allen get dropped? Suarez would be wasted in the wide position IMO although apparently he played there at Ajax. Benitez really did get the balance/quality of the players in his squad to suit his preferred formation. But then Torres was the perfect 9 and Gerrard was the perfect 10 and the two of them would have been perfect for Rodgers when they were on form. Suarez for me from a team perspective doesn't suit the 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 formation although he is doing well now but most of us would agree that we would like to see a box striker. I think 4-4-2 suits him better with a Ba/Huntelaar type but then then that would mean we get overrun in midfield. The tricky thing IMO is not getting hold of the players but getting the right balance and type of player that Rodgers want's for his 4-3-3. As much as I can't stand Walcott, he fits the profile perfectly With Sterling on one side and Suarez through the middle. Ba would probably end up being cover and Sturridge can go to hell

We need to be thinking more and more about teams that don't feature Gerrard. He's been a liability more often than not this season and he's looking quite uncomfortable in a system where he can't be the focal point of every attack.Originally posted by saj View PostWhere does Gerrard go then?
