well our next 3 league games are:
    Liverpool v Reading
    Everton v Liverpool
    Liverpool v Newcastle
......lets see what that throws up .....hopefully at least 7 points would be the required minimum

Key for sustained progress has got to be converting those winning performances into actual winning games, i.e converting our chances.

We'll be clearer to knowing if we'll be in a relegation dog fight after Christmas I guess. If we haven't put clear daylight between us and those teams, we'll have real ground to fear the worst.

I'm not usually given to making cast iron predictions about football but there is no way we are or will be in any kind of relegation fight this season or next.
      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

You just never know. We are not looking good and could well be sucked into it. But we must give the manager time so people keep saying.
It's a prediction thread on a wish list.

You only have to look at the results to get a decent guide as to where we are: we usually lose to the top clubs (Arsenal and Manchester United), draw with teams likely to finish between fifth and tenth (Stoke) and hammer teams that are likely to get relegated (Norwich).

Ok, it's only a small sample and it's impossible to be certain objectively that it reflects our ability or we won't get worse but as things stand we're likely to improve and even if we don't we're good enough.

Mate, he's just arrived and is overseeing an overhaul of playing personnel and playing style/tactics. It was never going to be an instant success. But yeah, the whole thing can either implode and we get relegated or it could all reveal itself to be a barking success.

This logic makes me feel a little bit better actually, so our next three games should yield about five points, Reading, Everton and Newcastle.
                      * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

So here is 12 down in the table.

Sunderland and Newcastle are well in it now and Norwich might get dragged down given the run of form they are on.

Reading are gone IMO can QPR get out of it?

                        12 Norwich 21 -10 25
                        13 Fulham 21 -5 24
                        14 Sunderland 21 -8 22
                        15 Newcastle 21 -12 20
                        16 Aston Villa 21 -24 19
                        17 Southampton 20 -11 18
                        18 Wigan 21 -17 18
                        19 Reading 21 -17 13
                        20 QPR 21 -19 13

Why is this thread not in the LFC forum?

A couple of decent results and everyone's forgotten we were certain to lose to QPR.

I cant remember the bottom two being so far away in a relegation scrap at this point for a long time.

Is Mark Hughes going to work his magic and get Stoke relegated? After this weekends games they could be in the bottom 3!

Think they will go down. Along with probably Fulham and Cardiff.
