Video Referees in Football?

This thread needs a poll.
.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

a good point was made that if the same appeal system as rugby is used and the incident is replayed in the stadium then the players who dive will be boo'd off the pitch and made a laughing stock.
once the 4th official of video ref gives his verdict then that will be final. he should only give a pen [or maybe adjudicate on yellow/red cards] if it is clearly a yes, defiantly a pen. not for contact, followed by some theatrical enhancement from the player.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Indeed. It's immeasurably more alluring than it already was.
Incidentally I'm hearing rumours on Twitter that the outcome of this poll will be regarded as binding by FIFA, UEFA and FA (Ferguson Association)..

Well I'm glad I took some extra time in my wording and presentation then.
Modifying post.

So to anyone who voted for it, how is it going to work? Are you going to stop play or wait for it to stop naturally, which can sometimes be minutes? And then if the decision gets overturned are you going to add the three minutes or whatever back on? And what happens if there's another decision to be challenged while you're waiting for the ball to go out of play so you can review the first one?
I can see there are some advantages but it'll change the game, this sort of thing always does..

Does anyone want to know why I voted "not sure"?.

Need some explanations as to why not for good debate to reign.
Don't blame me, blame the incompetent idiot who included it as an option.

I'm intrigued too, and would need some convincing as to why not being the way forward. It could be the biggest and best addition to football since the backpass rule.
I don't see why things like this and sin binning aren't just put in place, they do not change the fundamentals of the game, they make it better.Modifying post.
