It'd be a disaster. I'd rather he stayed well clear of this, its more of a poison chalice than the Liverpool job ever was.

Kenny or Strachan could do a job IMO. Strachan is actually a good manager. Kenny isn't shabby either. Both a bit out of touch but nowhere near as bad as Levein.
Saw Hodgson on the TV last night for the first time in a few days. Everytime I see him I just get angry. He was walking onto the pitch with his stupid wet hair and his stupid grin in his stupid England kit and it just reminded us of how much he almost ruined this club.
He's vile. I absolutely hate him.
Daniel would you really want Hodgson to manage Scotland? I'd rather hang me balls on barbed wire.

Finally...sense is prevailing
Hodgson would be a step up from Levein, Burley and Vogts and no mistake. I'd like to see Strachan given a go, why not? I would welcome back either McLeish or Smith as well. They knew what to do with the squads they had, which potentially, were worse than what we have now.
Kenny - no.

Kenny wouldn't be a good Scotland manager, he plays a too attacking style, Scotland really need to play a more Hodgson-type of game, men behind the ball, two banks of four etc. They don't really have have the players to play an expansive game. IMOThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Its probably the best squad we've had this century
Strachan could probably get some balance. He did a decent enough job with Celtic in the Champions League.

The fact we are languishing on 2 pts at the bottom of the group making Belgium look like Brazil, with a decent enough XI on paper only enhances what a **** job Levein is doing.
Tactically he just does not know how to set a team up to win a football match.Modifying post.

Its the defence that's the main issue, eh?
Berra and Caldwell are Championship (even thats flattering them). I can't even think of anyone coming through. Danny Wilson might be ok when he manages to get some games under his belt, but its a big ask for him to be the focal point of our defence.
Central defence used to be our strongest position as well.

Yeah, there are 'a few' other issues. But our defence is really ropey, Belgium went for us in the first 5 mins and we were creaking, having a good keeper kept the score reasonable. Caldwell is a decent club footballer, as is Berra (to a lesser extent). We really haven't replaced David Weir who was a colossus for us for about 15 years. He and Stephen Mcmanus were a dependable CB pairing. He'd probably still do a job now in his early 40's....
I agree, unless Wilson comes on to a hell of a game we don't really have anyone breaking through.Modifying post.
