Way to put pressure on the FA
    *Except Michael, who died.

To be honest, there should be a ban on anyone discussing it in press conferences until the matter has been concluded.
      Oh I don't know.

Classic FA strategy. Look at the way they handled Suarez and Terry scenario.

Rather than take control of the situation, they let the affected parties by tried in the court of public opinion for months. After waiting for a couple of months when they will have enough evidence to gauge which direction the wind is blowing, they then act and provide a sentence which is consistent with the current public opinion.

DBF is just being self serving, all this backing for refs in general with **** like... 'no player has ever come to me and even said a ref swore at him', no..i don't believe it'.... crap!

The vile ****e his teams have put refs through in the past, it's pathetic tbh.

DBF always heavily backs the referees as long as he gets the decisions in his favor.

With the Suarez, precedence FA have got a real head ache on their hands

Rather than understand the nuances of culture and the context, they took a moral high horse in the Suarez scenario and treated it as black and white.

That is going to be bit them back in their arse in the next few years.

Potential future case: A player from a far east country fouls consistently. If the referee points at him and utters "Yellow", he has a racism complaint on his hand.

Even with the comments made earlier by the head of the FA if there is any doubt whatsoever they will have to find Clattenburg guilty. The accused has to prove their innocence whether it's possible or not. I feel sorry for Clattenburg, but the FA had this coming.

All that **** is doing by backing Clattenburg is guaranteeing his team and himself will be looked on favourably by most ref's as they'll appreciate him coming out in public and backing their colleague.

He's a ******,but he's a wily old fox when it comes to stuff like this.

Remember the Mikel situation with Man Utd and Chelsea? Killing two birds with one stone there, pretty much saying Mikel is a liar and getting referee's onside.

My nephew has been offered a trial at Man Utd. Really pleased for him, he's only 17 and hasn't been reffing very long!!

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

                              I've nicked that for Facebook.

Football Association chairman David Bernstein open to taping referees after Mark Clattenburg row

Football Association chairman David Bernstein said Sunday he was keeping an "open mind" regarding the case for recording referees during a match following the row involving Mark Clattenburg.

Premier League referee Clattenburg has been accused by Chelsea of using "inappropriate language" towards their midfielder John Obi Mikel during last weekend's match against Manchester United last weekend, an allegation he is believed to have denied.
In English top-flight football a referee, his assistants and the fourth official can hear each other via a microphone link but what is said is not recorded.
This contrasts with the situation in English Premiership rugby union, where a referee's remarks are taped and kept until the end of the season by the governing Rugby Football Union.
Moreover, for major club and international matches, spectators and broadcasters can listen in live to the referee's comments via the 'ref link' system.
Bernstein, while refusing to comment specifically on the Clattenburg case, said the issue of recording referees' on-field conversations should "definitely be looked at".

removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.
