I was chatting to a work colleague who was at the game last night and again, glowing praise. He said he is 2 or 3 steps ahead of everyone else in the team with one exception (a chap they've loaned from Celtic) and he gets frustrated that they are not on the same wave length and loses the ball as he tries to do to much.
He needs to bulk up a bit as he does get bounced off the ball but he seems to think he has plenty in his locker.
    Go **** yourself

According to http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joao-...spieler/132214 it ends this year, you're right. Surprising that.

should have possibly brought him back in the group in Jan as well when Ibe came back. In reality we will never know unless he gets a chance but for me, when Suso left then Teixeria should have come back into the squad. He could have been useful in the Europa league games and if Coutinho or Lallana get injured / suspended / tired, then it would have been good to have this lad as an option.

Hope he gets a go next season

Wonder why we're letting his contract get so near to running out ?

Do our people rate him i wonder ?

I think he has until the end of season to give himself a chance of impressing pre season. In reality he seems to be 22 and at that age you need to ripping the Championship to shreds.

Now if he was sub 20 it'd be a different matter, but I think as you get older you need to be reaching a higher level. Lest we forget, he'd be competing with players like Sterling, Ibe & Markovic in that central role, who without checking are at least younger or of similar age. Add to that likes of Coutinho, Lallana and whoever we feel the need to buy this summer.

In reality the above is why Suso isn't here anymore. I think Tex has a lot on to get in the side here. He should've been loaned out ages a go to get games regularly.
            Forwards.......

I hope he does get a new contract/extension. It seems largely pointless to put players through youth coaching to then just let them go without some time in the first team squad. It's a waste of our money and time. After all, he didn't really look too out of place when he came on against Fulham (?) last season. Ok, we'd probably get some money through compensation, but it'd be good to see him get a go - really we should have already extended his contract on the same terms for a year or so.

But it seems our policy at the moment to do everything at the last minute - whether it is contracts (the fact that our vice captain has 17 months to run on his contract is ridiculous) - or all this 'monitoring' bollocks we do during the transfer window. I don't know if it is trying to save money, slackness or arrogance.

So every one knows that a contract extension isn't being worked out as we speak or we assuming that we'll open talks with a month left on his contract?

we will be mugs to let this lad slip away for free.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

He was out for the whole first season here with a serious back injury, then the following year he had to be nursed back to fitness. Once he'd proven his fitness, he was sent on Loan to Brentford, but they cancelled the deal early and sent him back. This year he was sent on loan again, so not really sure what else the club should have done.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I think the back injury might even have been the best part of 18 months IIRC. That's what's set him back but since he's managed to get fit he's been handled in a pretty good way by the club.

Aye, it's also why I wouldn't worry too much about is age either as he missed a few years of development, so is behind players of a similar age.

Even a Fulham like cameo could be enough to make a difference later.

Fair points, but I think my main point stands. He needs an exceptional finish to the season to have a chance.
