big disappointment for me.
Someone like Southampton or Norwich should buy him. I believe if he got game time then he would become a very good player.
If I had a son who had options of being a professional footballer, then there is no way i would advise him to go to LFC. In reality, it is very very hard to make a breakthrough and you are most likely to be washed up by the time you are 23.
If Teixeria had stayed at Sporting, then he would probably be playing for their first team every week and a full international for Portugal by now.

I think that's one of our failures, we keep running down the contracts of those players, like Suso, and may San Jose, Man United develop them to a point and then sell them like Shaggy say for good money, we probably need to give them a few games and a contract and sell them before they stall too much.Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostOut of contract isn't he?* The above is posted in my opinion. Oh, yeah, I agree, I just think, maybe we are holding on too long, in his case there were injuries that complicated things but I still feel maybe we need to let them go earlier so we can get a few million back and they can build a career elsewhere.Originally posted by RichC View PostContract is up in June by the looks of it. Shame but he's now 23 and not broken through to the first team so we're probably right to let him go.
I know we've been banging on about him but like has been mentioned, we were well stocked in his position with both senior and young players like Rossiter, Stewart and Brannagan also coming though in midfield. No big deal, really but maybe something to ponder.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

hes 23 i think. at this age he should be tearing it up in our team.
he isnt good enough and when you consider that coutinho is also 23 i think hes miles behind in terms of development. Its always a shame when clubs let players go but if he isnt good enough for us then he should be playing for a team matching his own ability wherever that is.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

That's a bit silly; I've seen nothing in Teixeira to suggest he can become as good a player as Lallana.Originally posted by redmike65 View PostLallana killed Teixeira's chances really. One cost 25 million the other cost 800k, guess which player goes out on loan to the Championship?
Let's face it - Rodgers wasn't afraid to blood youth and neither is Klopp. If Tex was a genuine Premiership quality player then he'd have been given more chances. Yes, clubs do make honest mistakes with younger players (Pogba & KDB
) but it is extremely doubtful that we've missed a trick with Tex.

I agree. It is easy to talk of these players as the next big thing but the reality is very different. Good players will force themselves into the sun. Many of our U21s are not going to make it and therefore need to be moved on to give space to players that the jury is out on at the moment. Ibe, Gomez etc!Originally posted by Rich View PostThat's a bit silly; I've seen nothing in Teixeira to suggest he can become as good a player as Lallana.
