If they lose Cabaye too then the wheels really have fallen off. And we think we have it bad!

Manager Alan Pardew has warned Newcastle owner Mike Ashley the club are in danger of relegation from the Premier League if he does not allow him to spend heavily in January.

Pardew had to persuade the Newcastle board to break their policy of not recruiting players over the age of 25 to land 27-year-old France right-back Mathieu Debuchy from Lyon.

All the money they've spent over the years and their best striker is a £7.5m player from Newcastle. Funny how football works sometimes. He'll do well for them, if he's allowed to play regularly.

Yep, but will he enjoy being second fiddle to Torres? Not sure Rafa would relegate Torres to the bench, apart from when he is rested.

He's a backup. If he doesn't know that going there then he's an idiot and deserves to sit on the bench watching Torres fumble around.

His loss (assuming we were interested in him).
