If he's hungry for a project, there's plenty of room at our trough.

If Inter are looking at downgrading, could we make Downing part of the deal?!!
I don't see how, even on a free transfer, it makes sense - Cole was a free transfer and did he make sense?

Any transfer is a risk - someone like Sneijder with a ****ty attitude and huge wages is a very high risk transfer.

His wages are astronomical, no doubts that's a sticking point for most clubs or else surely he'd have suitors everywhere.

Bayern would be great fit for him... although i wouldn't be against seeing him in a LFC shirt

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Sadly I don't think any German clubs would take a risk on him either - they're so spot on with finances.

I think they are better using Kroos and Müller in that role right now. Don't think they have use fit him.

We have no chance and your deluding yourself if you think, even if he would come here, which he wouldn't as were not a CL club any more and won't be for a long time, that FSG would spend that amount of money on a player of that age, when they wouldn't for Clint Dempsey, who is off similar age, but significantly cheaper than Sneijder overall.

Under these owners with the current finances available, and where we are as a club at the moment, we can forget about signing the Wesley Sneijders of this world. Imo of course.

LFC are interested and agree terms and a deal is struck. I fully expect Spurs to Gazump Us withing Nanoseconds of an annoucement

Apparently Everton are due to almost sign him.

We are getting as bad as Everton for getting linked with top players we have no hope of signing.

                              "No hope"?

If it's only us and Galatasary interested in signing him (although this is likely bollocks I know) then I'd say we'd be his first choice. Obviously his wages would be prohibitive (we'd likely have to offer him what Gerrard is on), but to say we've no hope is exaggerating slightly IMO.

If we don't try to sign top players like this who are looking to move then we never will sign one again.

I mean no hope in that we probably can't afford/won't want to pay him what he's likely to be looking for.

Cole was 28 when he signed on mega bucks.

I'd offer him a 1 year deal with an option for more if it works.
