QPR, Shirley? 'Arrry is desperate to spend some cash and glean off a percentage, so I'm sure he'll be getting his chat on out of the car window at some point today ... that's a given.

I think Spurs will spend today - Levy likes to get involved - other than that, I don't think we'll be spending anything today.

It's transfer deadline day so here are a few of the main transfer stories in today's papers from the BBC football gossip column.

Anzhi Makhachkala defender Christopher Samba, 28, is set for a staggering £100,000-a-week wage at QPR if a deal goes through. (The Independent)

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas is prepared to send defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto, 28, to Inter Milan in a swap deal which would take his former Porto defender Alvaro Pereira, 27, to White Hart Lane. (Metro)

Sunderland will complete the £5.5m transfer of striker Danny Graham, 27, from Swansea on Thursday. (Daily Mail)

Everton will continue talks with Sevilla this morning about a deal for Spain striker Alvaro Negredo.

David Moyes switched his attention to Negredo after an £8.6m deal for FC Twente midfield man Leroy Fer collapsed. It is a bold move by Everton - Sevilla rate Negredo at around £13m but their current financial state may force them to accept less.

French football expert Matt Spiro: "Big-spending PSG may not have finished their January shopping just yet.

"Manager Carlo Ancelotti has stated several times that Brazil playmaker Lucas Moura will be his only winter recruit, but according to RMC radio, the Ligue 1 leaders have opened talks with AS Roma's experienced international midfielder Daniele De Rossi.

"With teenager Adrien Rabiot set to join Toulouse on loan, and ex-Liverpool player Momo Sissoko Fiorentina-bound, there would certainly be room in the PSG squad for another midfielder."
