How do we think Odemwingie will be greeted back into training this morning?

Not quite Odemwingie, but am told Danny Simpson's move to Wigan was all but done last night - he'd packed bags, travelled to the DW...

but then, at 22.45 Newcastle Utd upped their price, the deal collapsed, so he's had to return north, to sit out last 6 months of contract

Natalie Sawyer hardly got a word in edge ways, neither did Niall Quinn which was probably a good thing really. She also needs to put some more beef on, she looks a mess now that she's lost weight. Still got a good rack though.

Hardly any big moves, the Odemwingie thing was funny though. Think they should **** the big build up for January window off now and have the big one just for the summer instead.

Cringeworthy that was, Jim White wasn't excited in the slightest. That bird at Norwich was nice though, gorgeous eyes.

        Total let down, fell robbed.
shocking tv last night hardly **** all to talk about and it looked really amateurish even worse that tit andy burton tried to crack some funny about the bigger tit simon jordan to nervous silence it was so bad!!!!
Oh I say his vision there was lovely

          Definitely.

After the City game, we have a good run of games that even we in our current state should be able to manage. Enrique is coming back at the perfect time - Sturridge is getting fitter, squad slightly bigger. We can have a good run at 5th.

          That's all that matters really.

Think patience is key. Need to allow Lucas to come back to full fitness. With Henderson and Lucas in the middle, fit we should have enough energy in there along with Gerrard to stop teams running through us. Suarez, Sturridge and Coutinho will also have a lot of energy up front so things should come together, but will take time

I'm excited about seeing Coutinho, really am.

Says it all that the quiz thread from last night has more posts than this thread. Such a boring deadline day! Especially compared to last year.

Reading's local paper reporting they made a 10mil+ bid for Sigurdsson yesterday but couldn't get it done in time.

I love how badly the Spurs move has gone for Sigurdsson, serves him right for being a greedy little ****.

Has he been that poor? I thought he just hasn't had much time because of the form of Lennon/Bale/Defoe/Dembele

That's what I mean - he went to Spurs and has barely had a sniff, had he come to us he'd have played a helluva lot more games.

Reading FC tried to sign Gylfi Sigurdsson from Spurs

                          By Jonny Fordham
                          February 01, 2013

Reading were close to smashing their transfer record late last night with a record £10million plus bid for Gylfi Sigurdsson.

In a sensational move, manager Brian McDermott attempted to bring the ex Royals star back home this week.

Sigurdsson, sold for £7.5million in 2010, is a cult hero at Madejski Stadium.

Follow Royals reporter Jonny Fordham on Twitter here for all the news as it breaks

And boss McDermott confirmed: "We tried to bring him back. We had spoken to Spurs and we made three offers.

"I thought at one stage we had a real chance of doing a deal, but unfortunately, we couldn't manage to do it.

"Gylfi is a Tottenham player, but we've known him since he was 13-years-old and it would have been great to bring him back."

If Royals stay up this season it is likely that they will look again at bringing Iceland star Sigurdsson back in the summer.

McDermott had been working tirelessly this week with director of football Nick Hammond and owner Anton Zingarevich to bring in more players.

He added: "I haven't had a lot of sleep in the last three days.

"After the Chelsea game I watched the tape back and went to bed at about 3.45am - I got up at 7am and then came to work. Then last night I left here at 11.15pm."

Surely he's worth less than Tottenham paid for him?

Didn't Homer Simpson once get a Monreal? The whole town hated him for it after a while.
