Few listeners will forget where they were the morning the great man intoned: “Our talking point this morning is George Best, his liver transplant and the booze culture in football. Don't forget, the best caller wins a crate of John Smith's.”

Or a more recent appearance by recovering alcoholic Kenny Sansom, who let slip he would be signing his autobiography in London's Leadenhall Market later that day and was told: "Get down Brokers wine bar while you're there, Kenny. On second thoughts, don't."

So it was hardly surprising when Paul McGrath, who has waged a long battle against the bottle, was asked last Monday if he’d “had a half of Guinness to celebrate St Patrick's Day.”

    The answer, unsurprisingly, was no.
It really is incredible that he has his own Radio show. He borders on utterly embarassing. He was talking about an article that someone had written in the Telegraph on Monday morning. He didn't like the article and on live radio goes onto refer to the writer as an "Absolute Tube".

Listened on the way home yesterday and they were discussing F1.

Darren Gough was acting all high and mighty saying he knew all about it and then proceeded to make an absolute fool of himself. Stated 3 or 4 things as facts which were just not true.

This station has become about getting callers and causing an argument - rather than having good sports journalists who have discussions around a subject using fact and rationale.

Its weird isnt it. Durham and Gough always have the opposite view on absolutely every topic.......
        *Except Michael, who died.

Station has gone right downhill compared to a couple of years ago.

Can hardly listen to it much these days.

That is odd! Durham would argue that Hitler was a gifted visionary if he thought it'd get callers and ratings.

They won Radio Station of the year a few years back at the Sony's. Don't see that happening again for a few years.

Scary. I was thinking the exact same thing on my way home from work yesterday. What are the odds that on every topic they discuss, every single day of the week, they would have the opposite view to each other!

And it gets on my nerves that Durham comes out with lines like:

                "Alwight Fella"

"I'm no expert on F1 and no fan of it but if Monaco GP is on, I'll watch it". Well no wonder you're no fan of F1 if you only watch the Monaco GP. It's probably one of the most boring GP's you could watch

i went through a spell a for a few years of listening to talksport on way to work, at lunch and way home

can't last more than a couple of minutes now other than hawksbee and jacobs in the afternoon don't seem too bad - almost likeable....

but then when they are sandwiched in between

                  irani - brazil
                  gray - keys
                  hawksbee - jacobs
                  durham - gough

well they look like ****ing hero's in the middle of that lot.

I caught a bit of keys and gray sucking up to that barclay fella, the nobhead journo - talking about the maracana stadium and Barclay mentioned that in the changing rooms they had oxygen masks...barclay trying to carry on with the story and Keys kept butting in

"....oxygen....oxygen....why....why.....but why oxygen masks" - he just sounded like such a patronising prick.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Paul Hawksbee is certainly listenable/likeable. Andy Jacobs is a irritating ****.

Who is the ex Eastenders actor who is a massive Arsenal fan Tom someone??
He was the last good presenter TalkSport had

Brazil is an old boys club fat idiot
Irani is a clueless, clueless Man U loving cunt.
Durham is another absolute bell end, Gough knows jack **** as well.

It really is a home for ex sportsman and washed up journo's showing early signs of Alzheimers.

One of the Hawksby/Jacobs pricks is openly hostile towards Torres as if he's some sort of super Chelsea fan.

As bizarre as it sounds Collymore is the only decent presenter they have.

                              What?

                              .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
